M.R. College Of Veterinary Science And Research Centre (MRCVS & RC)

M.R. Rural Education Society was established, in year 1993 by a group of learned and socially concerned people to provide quality education, both general or technical with a view to gear up prevailing educational avenues into a Center of Excellence.  Since 2017 the Society has been providing   Diploma course in Veterinary Livestock development with very good track record.  This laid the foundation for enhancing veterinary education in the form of Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.  To meet the demand and supply of veterinarians and para-veterinarians and provide the highest quality facilities in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary sciences, management of M.R. Rural Education Society and staff of the college established M.R. College of Veterinary Science and Research Centre (MRCVS & RC) in 2021. 

The MRCVS & RC is situated on Jhajjar-Kosli Road, State Highway No-22, Hassanpur, Jhajjar, Haryana.   The college is located just 10 kms from Jhajjar district, in a peaceful and natural green surrounding.  The location has its own importance as it is just 50 kms away from New Delhi and situated in National Capital Region which is home to world-renowned Murrah buffaloes, also called “Black Gold”.


MRCVS & RC is approved by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) Govt. of India and is affiliated to Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar. The Institute follows the course curriculum for B.V.Sc. & A.H. as per the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE 2016) prescribed by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi.

The college has already left an indelible mark while awarding 2 year Diploma in Veterinary and Livestock Development Program (VLDD). It is now offering Five and half year Degree Program in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc.&A.H.) including one year rotational compulsory internship program. The College has been permitted an intake of sixty students annually to impart quality education in theoretical and practical fields both. The eligibility for admission is based on NEET exam.

The college provides talented and dedicated faculty drawn from across the country with both national and international exposure.  In the future too, the college endeavors to appoint teaching professionals with excellent academic record for new departments so as to ensure professional competency and overall development of new graduates from this college.


MRCVS & RC provides excellent facilities which are essential for accomplishing the goals as determined by the aspirants. The elaborate buildings are available for teaching with well-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, Library, Seminar Hall, Smart Classroom, Conference Hall, Computer Lab, Hostel & Canteen, Transport, Sports facilities and well-facilitated residential accommodation for college students. The college, as per MSVE regulations, has established the departments with modern state-of-the-art facilities with round the clock functional Veterinary Clinical Complex to cater to the needs of livestock farmers in the region as well as functional Livestock Farm Complex with different species of animals and poultry for practical teaching of the students.


Besides, extracurricular activities like Sports and Cultural programs, MRCVS & RC will provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education.

It will not be out of place to mention here that MRCVS & RC consists of modern buildings, well equipped laboratories and residential accommodation for the students and the faculty. The Veterinary Clinic is also well equipped with modern and essential facilities besides a Livestock Farm is also functional which involves the students in all aspects of animal rearing.

Documents Required
Original and two sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents are required to be deposited in person with the Admission Committee at the time of document checking and failure to produce any of the original documents shall make the candidate ineligible for the admission.

Matric Certificate with Date of Birth and father’s/mother’s name and 10+2 certificate from Board of School Education, Haryana/ CBSE/ICSE/any other Board considered approved/equivalent as member by COBSE, New Delhi. If any certificate is found fake or not equivalent by any of the above Boards, admission will be cancelled and legal action initiated. In case result has been declared publicly but the certificate of qualifying examination has not been issued by the concerned Board/University, such candidates shall have to produce a certificate (Annexure-XII) from the Head of the institute last attended.
Admit Card issued by the concerned Education Board for 10+2 final examinations.
Score Card depicting marks obtained in NEET (UG)-2023 examination.
Haryana Resident Certificate (Annexure-II), if required.
Character Certificate from the institute last attended.
The applicants who have passed the qualifying examination earlier and if there is a gap of more than one year from the date of declaration of result of the previous examination (other than the pursuit of studies in an institution/college) shall give a self-undertaking regarding their nonenrolment in any institution (Annexure-XIII). Similarly, the applicants who have passed the qualifying examination as private candidates will also have to submit undertaking in this regard.
Relevant certificate if the benefit of reserved category is being claimed (Annexure-III/V/VI/VII/VIII/IX/X/XI as the case may be). The candidates claiming reservation under BCA/BCB categories are required to submit category certificate (Annexure-VI) along-with latest Income Certificate (Annexure-VII) issued on or after 01.04.2023 by the competent authority. Similarly, the EWS category candidates are required to submit the latest income and asset certificate issued by the competent authority on or after 01.04.2023 in the format prescribed in Annexure-VIII.

Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) ID for Haryana Residents.
Candidates claiming admission against the seats for Kashmiri Migrants are required to submit the Kashmiri Migrants Certificate issued by the competent authority.
Candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir are required to submit Jammu & Kashmir resident certificate issued by the competent authority.
The candidates must bring two (same) coloured 2.0"×2.0" size photographs as with NTA {NEET (UG)-2023} specifications as uploaded on application form at the time of counselling.

NEET Examination (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)
All candidates (except NRI & Foreign Nationals) seeking admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme of COVS, Hisar as well as affiliated private colleges must appear in the NEET (UG)-2023 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Applicants who have appeared in 10+2 or equivalent examination with required subjects (even if result is yet to be declared) may also apply, however, such candidates will be considered for admission on the basis of merit of NEET (UG)-2023 provided they fulfill the eligibility conditions as given under Rule 1 of this Chapter and production of all original documents at the time of document checking.
Same marks in the NEET (UG)-2023 or otherwise: In case of two or more candidates scoring same marks in the NEET (UG)-2023, the merit would be decided on the basis of All India Ranking given in the NEET (UG)-2023 score card.

Admission Procedure (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)
ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

The candidates under all categories must have passed 10+2 examination and obtained a minimum of 50% marks (except those in SC category) in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as main subjects from a “recognized*/ approved Board of School Education having equivalence by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi/CBSE/ICSE and also by Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani”. As per Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana letter no. 22/129/2013-1GSIII dated 16.07.2014, the SC category candidates will be allowed a relaxation up to 5% of the requirement for General Category i.e. the SC candidates securing a minimum of 47.5% marks in aggregate of the four subjects mentioned above will be eligible to apply for admission. No such relaxation will be applicable for management quota seats of Affiliated Private Colleges, except for Haryana domiciled candidates.

The candidates must have attained the age of 17 years as on 31st December, 2023. Candidates attaining 17 years on 1st January 2024 or later will not be eligible. The upper age limit for candidates of all categories (except SC and BC) is 25 years as on 31st December, 2023. This upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of SC and BC categories of Haryana State. No such relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable for management quota seats of Affiliated Private Colleges, except for Haryana domiciled candidates.

The list of Boards/Universities, un-recognized/un-approved/not found equivalent by Board of School Education, Haryana /CBSE/ICSE and Council of Boards of School Education, New Delhi, is given at Annexure-I. Later on, if any other Board is not found equivalent for 10th and/or 10+2, the certificate issued by such a board will be invalid and the candidates possessing such certificates will not be eligible for the admission. Inadvertently, if any such candidate is admitted, his/her admission shall be cancelled at any time by the Registrar besides disciplinary action as per rules.

In case result of the qualifying examination has been declared publicly but the certificate has not been issued by the concerned Board/University, such candidates shall have to produce a certificate (Annexure-XII) from the Head of the Institute last attended.

The last date for submission of online duly filled application form for all the seats of COVS, Hisar and affiliated private colleges on the portal has been mentioned in the beginning of this prospectus. The coloured 2.0" × 2.0" size photograph (taken on or after 01-04-2023) to be uploaded on the application form should depict the name of candidate and date of taking photo and it should be without cap and dark glasses (AnnexureXXV). If the photograph is old or with cap or dark glasses or disfigured, the application form shall be rejected. The photograph should be as per NTA [NEET- (UG)-2023] specifications (with white background and should cover 80% of face with ears clearly visible). Spectacles are allowed only if being used regularly.

Library
A well-stocked library has been established in the college for the benefit of students and staff. It remains open on all working days from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Library is fully automated with internet facilities and e-journals. It consists of Reference Sections, Circulation Sections and Periodical Sections.

At present more than 1000 books of different disciplines, scientific journals, departmental manuals, magazines, newspapers are available in the library. It is managed and operated by efficient librarians & supporting staff. It is highly spacious which can accommodate upto 200 scholars at a time.

Seminar Hall
The institute encompasses one seminar hall, which is designed in a way to accelerate the teaching-learning process using modern technological aids. It is used for various purposes like guest lectures, workshops, student meetings, staff meetings, placement drives, Faculty-Development Programs, etc. It is fully media-equipped with LCD Projector & other facilities. It has a capacity of 100 viewer seats.

Smart Classroom
College has an innovative approach to learning. So we also offer a smart classroom with facilities for our students to foster creativity and an interactive environment that would help in easy learning, bringing new ideas, more queries, and more solutions.

Conference Hall
A spacious air-conditioned conference hall is also available in the college which can accommodate around 50 persons at a time. The conference hall is equipped with audio-video equipment and internet connectivity.

Computer Lab
The institute is equipped with well structured computer laboratory with more than 100 high quality Dual Core 2.70 GHz machines from HCL. Computer laboratory is connected with 24 Hrs uninterrupted power supply.

The internet connectivity with campus wide area networking enables access from anywhere. Internet connectivity is extended to hostels with Wi-Fi connectivity.

Campus Wide Network - The campus wide area network is spread over all of the institutions, connecting all the service points. The whole campus is provided with the facility of Wi-Fi connectivity including hostels, lawns, canteen and central library.

Network labarotory is equipped with the advanced hardware and tools for the networking. The lab provides the facility to learn latest networking techniques, topologies and maintaining the network. The lab is equipped with latest Cisco Routers, various Switches, Networking Cables, Wired and Wireless LAN Cards.

Hostel
The college has separate hostel facilities for boys & girls with a hostel warden and supporting staff in each hostel to supervise. The hostel is quite spacious and comfortable with well-furnished & fully maintained rooms. All the rooms are good in ventilation with basic amenities like bed, table, chair, cupboard, and electrical fittings.

The canteen is highly hygienic and it caters to the needs of healthy and nutritious eatables. The canteen opens from 08:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. The routine health check up of the cook and the workers is carried at regular intervals. Furthermore, Food items available in canteen are nutritious and wholesome to ensure a well-balanced diet including fresh fruit juices, milkshakes, ice creams. Midnight snacks are also available in the canteen for those energy boosts.

Sports
The campus has adequate sports infrastructure like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, badminton, etc. It presents excellent facilities for indoor & outdoor games. A modern & fully functional gymnasium soon will be established with all the necessary equipment to make the students healthy & strong. As it’s a well-known saying that "A sound mind resides in a sound body".

Transport
M.R. Group of Institutes have a big fleet of more than 20 buses plying up to a radius of 20km. The bus facility, apart from the students, has also been given to the faculty members and other staff members from all the nearby cities and towns in very nominal charges. Experienced and skilled drivers who fulfill all the terms and conditions of the State Government are appointed to all the buses.
