Navodaya Institute of Technology, an institute of higher learning for engineering and technology, was established in 2008 by Navodaya Education Trust (NET), the biggest premier private education institution in Raichur.  NET aims at developing NIT-R as the most respected and sought-after technical institution of higher learning in Karnataka. The institute is now in its sixteenth year of dedicated service to the people of Karnataka and other states in the field of technical education.

 
Navodaya Institute of Technology is located in 30 acres of sprawling land surrounded by green environment and hilly area free from pollution.  The institute is situated at Bijinegera Road, Navodaya Nagar, Raichur, North Karnataka region well connected by road and railway. The institute, which is conveniently located near Hyderabad International Airport, is about 4.9 kilometers away from Raichur railway station.  

 
NIT-R is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.   The institute is accredited by NAAC with A-Grade until 2026.

 
NIT-R strives to improve the socio-economic status of the economically weak and backward sections by providing opportunities of graduate and post-graduate education in technical education, at affordable cost.  The institute is well-known for its undergraduate programs, BE Degree in 5 different disciplines.  It also offers two PG programs M. Tech – Thermal Power Engineering and M. Tech. – Digital Communication & Networking.  Admissions to the BE programs are based on KCET, while M.Tech admissions are based on GATE. The admission process involves a two-step process; appearing for the entrance exam and a selection process based on performance.

• A 10+2 pass is with PCM as the main subjects is the minimum eligibility criteria for B.E courses.
• The Institute also offers Lateral Entry Admissions for its B.E. programs.
• Candidates seeking admission in M.Tech course must hold a B.E/B.Tech degree in the relevant stream.
• The applicants having Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) score card are eligible to take admission in B.E. program.
• Final Selection is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
• The candidates can fill the application forms by visiting the campus of the college.
• Navodaya Institute of Technology, Raichur offers Navodaya Foundation Scholarships for meritorious students.

PLACEMENT PROCESS:
The placement office shall communicate, network and build relations with potential recruiters. Students seeking placement shall register for the campus placements.
The placement office confirms his/her registration, participates in pre-placement visits to the companies and conducts grooming and training of the students for better placements.
Send invitation to potential recruiters to visit the Institute and procure relevant details regarding the final placements. Respond to recruiters’ intention to participate.
The placement team communicates the dates for campus visit for each recruiter by considering factors like student preference, job profile, etc.
Companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of recruitment process.
The companies conduct different rounds of selection process (aptitude test, group discussion, personal interview, HR and others) and inform the names of selected students to the placement department, which in turn shall inform the concerned students of the same.
The placement office conducts general follow-up, joining formalities and other administrative activities.

SCHOLARSHIP:
The Navodaya institute of Technology Raichur was established in the year
2008 in Raichur District which is designated as most backward area in Kalyan Karnataka
Region. The Fee Structure of the management quota seats is fixed as per the Fee Regulatory
Committee (FRC) established by Govt. of Karnataka.

For the AY:2016-17 the Tuition Fees of rupees 1,21,000/- is fixed under Management Quota
by the FRC.

In order to promote a greater nun:ber of students to join B.E course in this area the management
took a decision to offer seats under mgmt. quota by giving 45%- 55% scholarship irrespective
of PUC percentage/ CET Rank.

Scholarship Application and Selection process:

We advertise this Scholarship policy through various media like Newspaper
Advertisements, WhatsApp Groups, Facebook, Website etc.

Consideration will be given to applications that meet the eligibility criteria for each
Scholarship category provided the application is received before the specified deadline.
Applications will be ranked on the basis of the merit.

The duly filled Scholarship application form should be submitted at the Navodaya
institute of Technology Raichur Admissions Office.

As per the defined policy the selection of Scholarship is done at the institutional level.

Library

The Central library, spread over a vast area in three floors (G+2 floors), which can accommodate over 100 readers, is well organised and creating a quiet space for contemplation and a social atmosphere for knowledge exchange. The library has an enormous collection of national and international books, journals, and other resources in Science, Engineering & Technology, Humanities, Social Science, and Management. The repertoire is in made available in different forms, including printed books, e-books, back volumes, and CDs & DVDs.

A central computational facility equipped with 100 Mbps (scalable as needed) internet connectivity is available for use.

Knimbus, a complete digital library platform for personalised learning and research is made accessible for both faculties and students. Also, the students have the privilege of learning through NPTEL video courses and EDUSAT programs of VTU. The library has the EPG Patashaala, Swayam Program, and other E-Learning ways, initiated by the Government of India. In our library, we use Easylibsoftware for library automation. Also, we use RFID Technology that comes with Self-issue and Return Kiosk and online renewal. Most importantly, the library is well protected with Fire Alarm, Flap Barrier, and CCTV Surveillance.

Hostel

There are separate hostels for girls and boys with fully furnished rooms with attached bathrooms. With a student capacity of 300 each, we have excellent hostel facilities, including drinking water, hot water, uninterrupted power supply, and security. All the hostel rooms have high-speed internet connection. Also, there is a spacious, tidy, and hygienic cafeteria, offering a variety of cuisines, including North-Indian, South-Indian, and Chinese, with separate counters for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. To take care of your body, you just have to eat right.

Incubation Center

Navodaya Institute of Technology: Raichur started the “Incubation Centre” in 2019 for nurturing and overseeing innovation and entrepreneurship. The aim is to encourage entrepreneurship among locals with the colleges serving as focal points. It is a platform for nurturing, encouraging and developing innovation and entrepreneurial skills among its students, research scholars and alumni, as well as students of the region.

Entrepreneurship in India is on the verge of explosive growth. Angel investors, venture capital, media, startup clubs, service providers, mentors and training companies are going to grow. And one important cog in the wheel is the incubator – the place where startups are born. When a baby is born, he/she is kept in the incubator for first few hours and maybe days – this gives them a chance to adjust to outside environment, and grow stronger before they face the outside world ! In a similar way, a startup is incubated in Incubation Center, which gives them a chance to bring their business in shape, before they reach out to the world.

The growth path of IT industry in Karnataka is only looking better and wider. After witnessing phenomenal growth in last two decades, IT continues to grow its share both in revenue and job creation, better than any other industry and any other state in IT sector.

Computing facility

The computational infrastructure includes latest computing facilities, accessible to students, research scholars, faculties and staff. One system is allotted to each and every faculty member, and all the labs have their own computing facilities to satisfy their specific requirements. All the computers are a part of the high-speed Local Area Network, with uninterrupted internet connection that meets the academic and related needs.

Sports

NIT has well-equipped games and sports department, under charge of the physical director of Navodaya Educational Trust. Students are encouraged to play various indoor and outdoor games and sports, as sports and health are heavily connected. Students are encouraged to participate in competitions held across country and outside country. NIT conducts sports and games as a part of college annual technical festival NITOTSAVA. NIT Students have participated in University, state, national and international level tournaments and won many prizes.
