Patrician College of Arts and Science, established in 2001, is a Christian minority co-educational self-financing institution affiliated to the University of Madras. It was instituted by the Brothers of St. Patrick, a congregation established by Bishop Daniel Delany on 2nd February 1808, in Ireland. The members of the congregation carry inspiration from the life and spirit of their Patron Saint – St. Patrick. With a noble spirit to serve humanity, the Patrician Brothers stepped into the vocation of educating the youth to free them from the bonds of ignorance. With their exceptional skill in leadership, governance and the strong hand of the Almighty, the congregation has established schools & colleges throughout the world.
In consonance with the philosophy of Brothers’ congregation, the college aims at providing quality education to the youth of today with utmost sincerity. To facilitate this, the Management has been keen in building the college with qualified teachers, pooling in resources from different platforms, and providing state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. Moreover, the College backs up students with a number of support services on and off campus. Along with curricular and co-curricular activities, the College constantly promotes a sense of social consciousness in the minds of students. In view of this, several outreach programmes are conducted wherein students enthusiastically participate and engage in social service

Placement Process
The Placement Team sends invitation to the Recruiters with relevant details regarding the Final Placements.
Data is collected from students directly or through the Class Tutors. These data are kept confidentially and passed to prospective recruiters only after prior permission from the designated Authority.
Recruiters convey their intention to participate by submitting a Job Notification Form for each profile they wish to hire for.
The companies inform Source Hub Coordinator about the recruitment process followed by them including the types and number of rounds for selection.
The Placement Team communicates the suitable dates for campus visit for each recruiter.
Companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of recruitment process. This gives students a chance to know more about the company, work culture, growth opportunities and learning and advancement opportunity at the organization.
HR can conduct different rounds of selection process and inform the names of selected students to the Placement Department, which in turn shall inform the concerned students of the same.
Final Job Offers would be provided by the companies, which shall be accepted and acknowledged by the students. All the job offers will be channeled through Source Hub. A Job Offer is considered to be valid only if the Placement Committee is in receipt of the written communication of the same. Any form of verbal or telephonic communication will not be considered as job offers.
The offers letters for the selected candidate should either be mailed or sent to the Placement Cell within 15 days of the final selection.

Placement team ensures that the students’ data base is maintained confidential.
Student representatives are selected from each class to ensure communication reaches every student regarding placement training and recruitment.
Information regarding campus recruitment and training is shared on the college website for the easy access.
Placement committee ensures that each and every student is benefitted in regard with employability.
Motivational talks and workshops are provided for the slow learners to excel themselves in placement.
Placement committee is in constant touch with the Alumni for the enhancement of placement services.

Central Government Scholarship
The Scholarship Committee facilitates the process of various Central Government Scholarships made available to its Graduate and Post Graduate Students. The Committee strives to help gain access to all the educational endowments and scholarships offered by the Central Government. The information is posted on the website and announced through the Public Address System. The Class tutors are oriented about various scholarships and the eligibility criteria are explained in detail through official mails. The Committee scrutinizes the applications and facilitates in the upload of documents.An extended section for Research and Reference, Rev. Bro. Byrne Hall, has been started to promote research culture and enhance reading habits of students.

Library
Policy on Book Lending
All students, Faculty & staff members of the organization are members of the Library.
Books will be issued on production of valid Smart Card or Biometrics Thumb impressions
Books borrowed must be returned on or before the due date.
Only one renewal can be done.
Books will not have to be physically presented for renewals.
Books must not be marked or damaged in any manner.
Students shall replace or pay for the cost of any book lost by them. If one book of a set is lost or damaged the whole set shall be replaced.
