When we stand at the threshold of 21st century and look back at the path traversed by SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, one can easily trace the excellent foot prints of the college over the years. The college has strived hard to make the students confident and creative to face the society. Also, the college has made its students employment ready with the motive of service at their heart. The college has many ‘Firsts’ to its credit. This is the first college under University of Mysore which had submitted itself for NAAC Accreditation. This is also the first college to have started Post-Graduate Course under Mysore University and the first one too to launch a Masters degree in Science. At present, the college enjoys ‘A’ Grade from NAAC. In the survey-conducted by ‘Education World’ in 2020, the college occupies 77th position in India and 16th position in the state of Karnataka.

The college is recognized not only at state level but also at national level, as its students have brought laurels to the college by winning various sports events and cultural events. The NCC and NSS units are well recognized both at the university and state as well as national level. The annual magazine “Mandara” has successively won First Prize at the Mysore University. Mahajana’s is the first college to have an exclusive post graduate center and the students who have come out of the portals of the college have reached the higher echelons of the society as Minister, Chief Minister, Governor, literary personalities, film actors, stage artists, industrialists, Army personnel, chartered accountants, scientists and what not! The college has always been proud of its alumni. The credit for the unprecedented success of the college goes to the philanthropists and social servers who laid foundation to Mahajana Education Society 80 years ago.

2. MCA (Master of Computer Applications)
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates possessing a degree of University of Mysore, or of any other University, equivalent there to and complying with the eligibility criteria:

Passed BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. OR Passed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level (with M.Sc. (CS) (Master of Science in Computer Science)additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University).
Admission to MCA course shall be open for candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the Degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.
Provided that for admission to MCA, the candidate shall have passed Bachelor Degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Application / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives at degree level.
Provided further that in respect of candidates who have studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the first provison in the Pre-university course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.
However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Category-I, 45% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.
3. M.Sc. (CS) (Master of Science in Computer Science)
Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates who have passed B.Sc. with Computer Science/Computer Applications/Vocational computer Applications/Computer Maintenance/Computer Systems as an optional course/BCA with minimum 45% marks in cognate subject and should have also studied Mathematics as a major or a minor subject are eligible (relaxed to 40% of SC, ST and Category 1 Candidates). The candidates should have also studied Mathematics as a major or a minor subject in their B.Sc./BCA degree. The definition of the minimum percentage is as prescribed by the University of Mysore from time to time.

4. M.Com (Master of Commerce)
Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate who has passed B.COM/BBM of University of Mysore or any other university considered as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination. A relaxation of 5% is available for SC/ST and Cat I candidates.

5. M.Sc. Chemistry (Master of Science in Chemistry)
Eligibility Criteria:

B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the Major/ Optional subject, provided the candidate has studied Mathematics as one of the optional subject in the Two Year P.U.C. or equivalent.

6. M.Sc. Biotechnology (Master of Science in Biotechnology)
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in Science including Agricultural, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary, Dairy, Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry from any University recognized by UGC / ICAR / AICTE / Medical Council with an aggregate of minimum 55% marks. A relaxation of 5% is available for SC / ST and Cat. – I candidate.

7. M.Sc. Microbiology (Master of Science in Microbiology)
Eligibility Criteria:

B.Sc. with Microbiology as one of the Major/ Optional subjects from University of Mysore or any other University equivalent thereto; 45% for general category and 5% relaxation for SC/ST students.

8. M.Sc. Biochemistry (Master of Science in Biochemistry)
Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility is as prescribed by the University of Mysore regulations for PG admission.
Students of Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.) degree from any UGC recognized Universities with Chemistry or Biochemistry as one of the majors
For general category- minimum 45% marks in Chemistry/ Biochemistry
For SC/ST category- 40% marks in Chemistry/ Biochemistry
Students with bachelor degree from Foreign Universities will apply through equivalence committee of University of Mysore.
The applicant has to take “Post Graduate Entrance Examination (PGEE)” for the current year conducted by the University of Mysore or as applicable and marks obtained shall be filled in the application form.
9. M.Sc. Botany (Master of Science in Botany)
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates possessing a B.Sc. with Botany as a Major /Optional subject and degree from UGC recognized University. Candidates applying for admission to M.Sc. Botany must be a graduate and must have obtained a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ ST and Category-I candidates).

10. MSW (Master of Social Work)
Eligibility Criteria:

B.SW./B.A. with social work as an optional/B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.B.M./L.L.B. of the university recognized as equivalent are eligible for admission to M.S.W. with minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST and Cat 1) of aggregate marks in all the year so qualifying examination.

Note: The order of preference shall be as follows:

Those who have passed B.S.W.
Those who have passed a degree with social work as one of the optional subjects.
Those who have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.B.M./L.L.B./Degree.
11. MTTM (Master of Tourism and Travel Management)
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate seeking admissions to MTTM course must possess any bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
