The Shetty Institute of Technology, popularly known as SIT, was established in the year 2011 in Kalaburagi (formerly Gulbarga) to empower budding engineers with technical and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, and to assist them in having a holistic growth.

 
Located just on the other side of the Ring Road, on Gulbarga Shahabad Highway (NH 150), Rajapur, Gulbarga, Karnataka, SIT campus nestles amidst sprawling 17 acres of greenery with a hilly backdrop. The institute offers UG program B.E. degree in 5 streams of Engineering. Admissions to these courses are based on scored obtained in entrance exams conducted via COMEDK/KEA, and remaining seats are reserved for management seats.

Common Entrance Test (CET) and Selection Process
The Government of Karnataka conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Karnataka Examination Authority. This entrance exam is a gateway to obtaining an engineering seat through the Government quota. The CET conducts the examination in four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates who wish to seek admission in engineering courses should appear for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Students are offered a choice of colleges based on their CET ranking at the time of CET counseling, and can choose Shetty Institute of Technology at the time of CET counseling. Management Admission Process
Admission through this process is open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students. Eligible students (those who meet qualifying requirements as per the eligibility criteria) may contact the SIT Kalaburagi Admissions Section in order to obtain the application form. Candidates will be selected based on their academic merit.

COMEDK and Selection Process
The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely “Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka”, COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counseling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counseling, and can choose Shetty Institute of Technology at this time.

Admissions Procedure
Candidates must fill in the registration form. This is to be done at the SIT kalaburagi College Campus.
Visit the Admissions Section, and meet the Admission Coordinator (Mr. Sagar).
Admission fee details will be shared with the prospective candidate.
Once the seat has been confirmed, candidates may fill out the application form and submit it along with the documents specified below.

We get the job requirements, position description, eligibility criteria, salary details and the company introduction note that we can share with students.

We publish the company details and their requirements to all students through a college internal portal.

Eligible and interested students apply for jobs by registering themselves on the portal.

We send eligible and interested students list to the company with all the student data like degree/department, date of birth, prior education marks, current CGPA, backlogs, etc.

Companies will review the students, shortlist if required and send the final list of students prior to the placement drive date

Visiting companies will start with pre-placement talk on drive date and directly interact with the eligible students. During these sessions, they will provide overviews of the job profiles, job descriptions, compensation, company’s expectations and other specific requirements. Students will clarify any questions they have with company delegates.

Companies typically conduct Written Tests, Group Discussions/Case Studies and Personal Interviews as part of the placement process.

Most companies announce the selected students by end of day on the drive date. Further to this, Company’s HR team confirms selected students list by a mail.

As a post selection process, Companies send formal offer letters to the individual students with a copy to placement department.

We connect to students and follow through the acceptance process and any other post offer activities like document submissions, briefing sessions, trainings, internships, etc.

We are connected to students and the companies till all the students completes post offer formalities and joins the organization.

Fees were varying for different categories. My category alloted was SNQ and fees was 3090. And the building fund from college was 15000. For general category and SC, ST and OBC fees were 60000. For general category scholarship name was vidyasiri and the amount was 17000 that we get. It helped us so much to study. Due to covid pandemic, no campus selection was done.
