Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College (SAASC), Tiruchirappalli, was established in 1996 by the Sri Ranganatha Paduka Vidyalaya Trust. It has been accredited with ‘A’ by NAAC and has also been recognised by AICTE and UGC. It is affiliated to the Bharathidasan University.

Our founder His Holiness Srirangam Srimad Andavan Sri Rangaramanuja Maha Desikan, a learned scholar and was a teacher by profession in his poorvashrama.he was the 11th pontiff of the Srirangam ‘Periyashramam’ in 1989. Born on May 20, 1935, at Srimushnam in Cuddalore district, the Swamigal went to Sri Ahobila Mutt Sanskrit College at Madurantakam at the age of 13 and thereafter to the Sanskrit Paatashaala. Later, he studied at the Sriperumbudur Sanskrit College and emerged successfully in the Nyaya Siromani Paribhaasha. He learnt Telugu while working as a Sanskrit teacher in Andhra Pradesh. He returned to Sriperumbudur and passed the Tamil Vidwan final exam and became Tamil teacher at the Jilla Board School at Chengalpattu. His intellectual prowess was amazing and he was proficient in Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu. He was interested in Ayurveda from childhood. He became the head of Periyashramam at the age of 54. He set up goshalas and established seven veda paatashaalas.

His ardent desire that higher education should reach the weaker section and the downtrodden, without any discrimination of caste, creed or sex ultimately paved the way for founding Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College. The College was started as a co-educational institution on 26th Oct 1996 affiliated to the Bharathidasan University. The college was inaugurated by Dr. Shanka Dayal Sharma, former President of India.

SAASC Tiruchirappalli Admission

The admissions are conducted through the offline mode. Students, who are eligible and interested in applying for the courses, need to visit the college office.

Application Procedure:

Candidates need to collect the prospectus and application form from the college office.

They will be given a unique ID number.

Fill the application form and submit the copies of the documents needed by them.

Pay the prescribed application fees.

When finalizing the admission, candidates need to come with the unique ID number given to them

Admission Procedure The prospectus can be obtained from College office or downloaded from the college website on payment of Rs50/- for UG / Rs. 100 for PG. You will be given a unique number for admission purpose.

Application for hostel accommodation must be made in a separate form. Residential accommodation is given on first – come – first served basis and availability of seats with preference given to those coming from farthest distance from Trichy.

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell is established in the college to organize mock interviews for students, train them, and guide them to increase their chances of being employed. Sports

The college has an excellent infrastructure for sports and games. The sports infrastructure includes a good gymnasium, yoga center and an indoor stadium for table tennis, badminton, chess, weight lifting, and powerlifting. Our students are being trained for the outdoor games like Basket Ball, Cricket, Foot Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Hand Ball, Short put and Javelin.

Cafeteria

The college has a good spacious and hygienic canteen is available inside the campus. Quality and tasty food are provided at pocket - friendly prices. It has been certified by FSSAI. The canteen is open during the working hours of college and is under 24 × 7 CCTV surveillance.

Transportation

Management provides free bus facility to students from rural background especially to encourage rural girl students to pursue higher education. 50 kilometre radius is covered in and around Trichy district with 28 buses. A total of 29 drivers with minimum of five years of experience are employed. Minimum and maximum capacities of the buses are 34 and 50 respectively. Every day most of our college students (80%) are benefited with the free bus facility since all the buses ply two times in a row per day for arts and science students separately. A pick up trip covers almost 150-180 km per day. In order to encourage and motivate the students in their academics, a criteria has been followed, that free bus facility is extended throughout the course of study only if the students complete all the semesters without arrears.
