The Thiruvarur Government Medical College (TGMC) is a prestigious institute established in the Year 2010 to serve the people.

The TGMC is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.  The college is recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) and  Accredited by World Health Organization (WHO).

Thiruvarur Medical College offers MBBS course with an annual intake of 100 seats. The MBBS admission is based on NEET UG examinations. At the postgraduate level, the College offers MD and MS courses.  Admission to the PG courses is based on the NEET PG examination. The College also offers PG Diploma courses, the admissions to which is based on merit in the last qualifying examination.

It is a tertiary care hospital with 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital.
