Shri.Yajaman Bellur A.Thammaiah, Member, People’s Representative Assembly of the erstwhile state of Mysore, a person who enjoyed close contacts with the Maharaja and a leading contractor of yester years had a cherished desire of starting a hostel for the students of Uppara community and poor and backward students of other communities as well. This noble desire became a reality in the year 1942. Shri.Thammaiah was an ardent devotee of Sri.Sri. Swami Ramadas of Anandashrama of Kerala. Eventually this hostel came to be known as “Shri.Swami Ramadas Melusakkare Uppara Vidyarthi Nilaya”.
Shri.Thammaiah had the concept of “Vidyadhana” uppermost in his mind and therefore nominated his son-in-law Shri.Y.S.Lingaiah as President of the Hostel in 1965 for smooth functioning of the Hostel. Shri.Thammaiah reached his heavenly abode in 1973. Shri. Y.S.Lingaiah was a leading advocate of Mysore. He was the follower of 12th century social reformer Basavanna’s philosophy “Work is Workship”. He was elected as the President of K.R.Nagar Muncipal Council several times and served the people there with humility, nobility and to the satisfaction of one and all. In recognition of his yeoman services to the citizens of K.R.Nagar Shri.Lingaiah was named as the President of “Temperance Board of Karnataka” by former Chief Minister of Karnataka D.Devaraj Urs.

The whole admission process for all the courses offered is offline and merit-based. Any candidate who fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria can take part in the admission process. Admission to all the courses is based on the marks scored by the applicant in the concerned qualifying examination.

Out sourced training in the form of Workshops were conducted at our college , the scheduled training classes were customized according to the students feedback, computer skills (ISO -2008 certified basic computer hardware and software 12 hours course conducted with certification), aptitude, reasoning skills, oral and written English communication skills, office etiquette, soft skills, group discussion, interview skills, resume writing.

Previous year students were also inducted to the above programme along with the final year students.We wish to acknowledge our good office that in the near future we are planning to take the previous year students to various small and large scale manufacturing plants to provide an insight to the current market state of affairs, as well to craft entrepreneurship amongst the student fraternity.
