Veerappa Nisty Engineering College is a Private Un-aided college in Yadgiri in Karnataka established in the year 2010.  It is a one of the institutions under the Sharnabasava Vidyavardhak Sangha, Kalaburagi which was established in 1903 to do Akshara Dasoha to the educationally deprived region with a vision of “Quality Education, with strong commitment to provide professional education with thrust on creativity and innovation along with a sense of social responsibility, human values and concern for social commitment”.  The Sangh is a provider of Quality-level Education and Research in the South region of Karnataka. 

 
As a College within the wider Sangha network, VNEC is a dynamic, fast-growing educational institution that recognizes its strategic location in Shorapur.  It is responsive to the local/regional needs and contributes not only to University-level education but to the social and economic development of the region.

 
Veerappa Nisty Engineering College is spread across 10.0 acres of land amidst an ambience of peace and tranquility.  It is located near KSRTC Bus Depot, Hasanapur Camp, Shorapur, Yadgir, Karnataka.

 
VNEC is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi and accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

 
Veerappa Nisty Engineering College offers various Courses in the UG and PG levels.  It includes BE degree programs in 5 disciplines and MTech degree in 2 disciplines of Engineering.  It also offers 2-year MBA full-time program.  The eligibility for admission to BE courses is based on scores of the KCET, COMEDK UGET entrance exam.  The accepted entrance exam for MTech is PGCET and for MBA the college accepts admissions on the basis of the PGCET/CAT/MAT/KMAT scores.  These programs feature practical, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for the workplace, or for the next step on their academic pathway.

 
At VNEC excellent infrastructural facilities like Spacious Classrooms, Laboratories, Workshops, Incubation Centre, Library & Information Centre, Hostels, Sports Club, Health Care, Transport, Canteen, etc are provided.  Special emphasis is on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiential Learning. Other Student-centric activities include Placement and Training Cell and Anti-Ragging Committee.

The Placement Cell of the Institute is responsible for:

·        Training the students to make them confident in the recruitment process of various organizations and to provide world class job opportunities in a range of private and public sector organizations.

·        Arranges pre-placement orientation to the students prior to formal campus interviews from senior executives of major industries.

·        Conducts extensive on-campus recruitment programs, workshops, seminars and individual career and job search assistance.

·        Encourages interdisciplinary approach and thus exposes Non IT branch students to software languages. 

·        Organizes Industrial tours to give students a feel of actual work culture

·        Has close interaction with organizations such as TCS, Wipro, IBM, Marine etc. for research, academic and Training & Placement activities.

Admission to B.E, Passed in Second PUC/12th standard/Equivalent examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ BioTechnology/biology/Electronics/Computer. 40% for for SC, ST, Category- 1,2A,2B,3A, and 3B ccategory candidates. Foreign/NRI students are also admitted to the B.E. courses. They must hold a valid student VISA.

Admission to B.E Lateral Entry, Passed in any diploma examination or equivalent examinations and B.Sc degree holders from a recognized university as defined by UGC with minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ BioTechnology/biology/Electronics/Computer. 40% for for SC, ST, Category- 1,2A,2B,3A, and 3B ccategory candidates. Foreign/NRI students are also admitted to the B.E. courses. They must hold a valid student VISA.

Admission to M.Tech, course shall be open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying (BE/B.Tech) examination with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters / years of the degree examination with PGCET Score.In case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/Cat -1, marks shall not be less than 45%.

Admission to MBA, course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding - off aggregate percent is not permitted) of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. In the case candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/Cat-1 and OBC, the aggregate percent of marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off aggregate percent is not permitted).

The admission is open to candidates qualified in PGCET/CAT/MAT/KMAT.The application and prospectus can be obtained from the college office on payment of cash of Rs. 1000/- or by sending a D.D. for the said amount in favour of "The Principal, VNEC, Shorapur".

VNEC Shorapur has a focused Placement Cell.

We strongly believe that Students and recruiting organizations are two of our most important customers. The Placement Cell of the Institute is responsible for arranging training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students in order to make them comfortable in the recruitment process of various organizations and to provide world class job opportunities in a range of private and public sector organizations. The Placement Cell also arranges pre-placement orientation to the students prior to formal campus interviews from senior executives of major industries. VNEC conducts extensive on-campus recruitment programs, workshops, seminars and individual career and job search assistance. Campus interviews for graduate /postgraduate students normally commence in VII semester for B.E graduates, III semester for MBA and M.Tech.

VNEC regularly conducts training on topics such as Quantitative ability, Technical ability, Verbal ability, Logical ability, Group discussion, personal interview and communication skills with the assistance of best trainers.
