NMC Extends Deadline for PG & Super Specialty Courses Under Revised PGMSR Norms for 2026–27: In a major relief to medical institutions across the country, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the last date for submission of applications related to postgraduate medical education for the academic year 2026–27. The extension comes in the wake of recent amendments to the Post Graduate Medical Minimum Standard Requirements (PGMSR), 2023.

As per the latest notification issued on March 26, 2026, by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) under NMC, the deadline, earlier set for March 31, 2026 has now been extended to April 20, 2026 (till 11:59 PM).

Extension Due to Revised PGMSR Norms

The decision to extend the deadline follows amendments introduced by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) on March 12, 2026, to the PGMSR-2023 regulations. These revised norms came into immediate effect and are applicable for the 2026–27 academic session.

Given the regulatory changes, institutions required additional time to align their applications with the updated framework, prompting the extension.
