Bihar Launches Free JEE & NEET Coaching Scheme; Check Other States Offering Support to Engineering & Medical Aspirants: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has introduced a free coaching initiative for students preparing for competitive exams like JEE and NEET. Named the Super 50 programme, this residential coaching scheme aims to support deserving aspirants with structured preparation. Under this initiative, a total of 100 students, including 50 boys and 50 girls will be selected. Those chosen will be provided completely free accommodation, with all expenses related to boarding, lodging, and education covered by the board.


The registration process commenced on March 23, and eligible candidates can submit their applications online until April 5. While residential coaching facilities will be available exclusively in Patna, non-residential coaching centres will operate across multiple locations including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Munger.

Students attending non-residential coaching centres will also benefit from a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 for educational purposes. Eligibility is limited to students who are set to appear for the Class 10 examination in 2026 and intend to enroll in Class 11 at a Bihar Board-affiliated school. The selection process involves a written test followed by an interview. Final selection will be based on a merit list, after which candidates will undergo counselling and document verification. Interested applicants can complete the registration through the official website of the board.

States Providing Free Coaching for Engineering and Medical Entrance Preparation

Here is a state-wise overview of government initiatives offering free coaching to students aiming for engineering and medical entrance examinations:

Delhi:
The Delhi government offers free coaching to students preparing for JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and NEET UG. This initiative is implemented under the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana, a scheme designed for the welfare of SC and ST communities. Students studying in government schools are given special access to free coaching for IIT JEE and AIIMS entrance examinations.

Uttar Pradesh:
Through the Abhyudaya Scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government provides free coaching for aspirants of IIT JEE Main and NEET UG. Admission to these coaching centres is granted based on performance in an entrance examination. Typically, the registration process for this programme begins in March.

Telangana:
In Telangana, free coaching for IIT JEE and NEET is provided by the Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) in partnership with the Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS). This initiative is specifically for students from SC and ST categories. The coaching facility is located in Hyderabad, and candidates are selected based on their performance in the TS EAMCET examination.

West Bengal:
The West Bengal government offers free coaching programmes for NEET and JEE Main exclusively for students from SC and ST communities. The application process generally opens between March and April and is overseen by the Department of Backward Class Welfare and Tribal Development.

Assam:
The Assam government runs a free mentoring programme aimed at students preparing for JEE Main and NEET UG. Interested candidates must apply and appear for a selection test. The application process is conducted offline, usually starting in June, with the selection examination scheduled for August.
