SRM Institute of Science and Technology Signs MoU with Amrita School of Ayurveda to Strengthen Research in Indian Systems of Medicine: Chennai:
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has entered into a significant academic and research collaboration with the Amrita School of Ayurveda by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing education, research, and innovation in the Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM). The MoU signing ceremony was held on December 16, 2025, marking a key milestone in fostering interdisciplinary and evidence-based healthcare research.

The partnership seeks to promote collaborative academic initiatives, joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, and the development of integrated research programs that combine traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern scientific methodologies. By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, the collaboration aims to contribute meaningfully to societal health and well-being through validated and research-driven traditional medicine practices.

Senior officials and faculty members from both SRMIST and Amrita School of Ayurveda were present during the MoU signing ceremony. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening interdisciplinary research, encouraging innovation, and enhancing academic excellence in the domain of traditional medicine and allied sciences.

Under the terms of the MoU, both institutions will work together on:

  • Joint research projects in Ayurveda and Indian Systems of Medicine
  • Evidence-based validation of traditional medical practices
  • Academic collaborations, workshops, and conferences
  • Faculty development programs and student engagement initiatives
  • Knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary learning

The collaboration is expected to open new avenues for integrated healthcare research, bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and contemporary scientific inquiry.
