CUET UG 2026 Alert: NTA Orders Urgent Photo Verification to Prevent Exam Disqualification: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made it mandatory for certain CUET UG 2026 candidates to complete an immediate photo verification process. This applies to students whose application photographs do not match their identity documents. Affected candidates must download the “Annexure-1” certificate, paste a photograph, get it attested by their Principal/Headmaster, and upload the PDF by April 10, 2026, to avoid disqualification from the exam.

The NTA has issued an important notification for candidates appearing in the CUET UG 2026 examination. This notice concerns students whose uploaded application photos do not match their ID proofs. The agency has identified discrepancies where the submitted photograph does not align with identity documents such as Aadhaar or other government-issued IDs. To resolve this issue and ensure smooth entry on exam day, such candidates must complete the verification process immediately.

This step is crucial for all affected candidates. Failure to complete the verification process may result in being barred from appearing in the examination. The NTA has instructed these students to download a specified certificate, get it duly signed and stamped by an authorized official such as a School Principal or a Gazetted Officer, and upload it back to their application portal.

Essential Information for Affected CUET Students

The official notice clearly outlines the actions required for candidates whose photographs have been flagged as mismatched. Below is a detailed breakdown:

As per the notice, the CUET UG 2026 examination will be conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026. The application process was open from January 3 to February 4, 2026, and the correction window was available from February 23 to 26.

Are You Affected by This Photo Mismatch Issue?

The NTA has observed that for some candidates, the “live photograph” captured during the application process does not match the image available in official records with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

If you fall under this category, the NTA would have already sent a dedicated link to your registered email ID. Candidates must use this link to complete the verification steps.

Steps to Avoid CUET UG 2026 Disqualification

Candidates who have received this notification must follow these steps immediately:

  • Download the Certificate: Obtain the certificate mentioned in the notice (“Annexure-1,” available on page 2). Take a printout of the document.

  • Attach Latest Photograph: Paste a recent and clear photograph in the designated space on the certificate.

  • Get It Attested: The certificate must be signed and stamped by an authorized official. The signature should overlap both the certificate and the photograph. The authorized official can be:

    • Your current School or College Principal, OR

    • Your current School or College Headmaster

  • Upload the Document: Scan the completed certificate and save it as a PDF file. Upload it using the link sent to your registered email address.

This process must be completed between April 7, 2026, and April 10, 2026.
