Industry Leaders and Faculty Guide Future Managers

The three-day orientation programme featured interactions with senior faculty members and renowned industry professionals who emphasized the importance of leadership, adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning in today's rapidly evolving business landscape.

The event served as an important platform to introduce students to the values, expectations, and academic rigor associated with one of India's leading management institutions.

ICICI Bank Executive Director Rakesh Jha Addresses Students

A major highlight of the induction ceremony was the inaugural address delivered by Rakesh Jha, Executive Director of ICICI Bank Limited, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.

An alumnus of IIM Lucknow's 1996 batch, Jha shared valuable lessons from his professional journey and encouraged students to make the most of their time at the institute.

Addressing the incoming students, he stressed the importance of utilizing time effectively and maintaining a lifelong commitment to learning.

“Time is your most valuable resource. Enjoy the journey, give it your best, but do not become obsessed with the destination. Everyone’s path is unique, and the key is to maintain a hunger for learning, keep asking questions, and learn from everyone around you.”

His message resonated strongly with students as he urged them to embrace curiosity, continuous self-improvement, and openness to new perspectives.

IIM Lucknow Director Highlights Importance of Vision and AI

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M.P. Gupta, Director of IIM Lucknow, encouraged students to cultivate a long-term vision for their personal and professional lives.

He emphasized that while artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in modern business environments, students must also focus on developing critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to shape their own futures.

Prof. Gupta advised the new batch to use emerging technologies wisely while remaining grounded in human intelligence and values.

“Learn to use AI intelligently, but more importantly, develop the capability to design the architecture of your own life and create a vision for the future. Just as corporations have stories that go beyond case studies, your life is also a story; make it one worth unfolding.”

His address highlighted the need for future managers to balance technological advancements with human judgment, foresight, and purpose-driven leadership.

Building Future Leaders for a Changing World

The induction programme marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the new students. Through interactions with faculty, alumni, and industry experts, participants gained valuable perspectives on leadership, innovation, ethical decision-making, and career development.

With a strong focus on academic excellence, sustainability, technological adaptability, and leadership development, IIM Lucknow aims to equip its students with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex global business environment.

As the new academic year begins, the institute continues its mission of nurturing responsible leaders capable of driving meaningful change across industries and society.
