The Round 5 Seat Allotmentrepresents the last phase of JoSAA Counselling 2026. After this round, no further JoSAA seat allocation rounds will be conducted for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Candidates allotted a seat in this round must make an important decision. They can either:

  • Accept the allotted seat and complete the admission formalities, or

  • Withdraw or exit the counselling process if they no longer wish to continue.

Any seats that remain vacant after the completion of Round 5 will not be filled through JoSAA. Instead, they will be made available through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) Special Counselling 2026, which is scheduled to begin later this month.

Candidates are strongly advised to:

  • Download the allotment letter immediately.

  • Save multiple digital copies.

  • Take printed copies for future admission requirements and physical reporting at the allotted institute.

The Provisional Seat Allotment Letter serves as an essential admission document during the institute reporting process.

Online Reporting Process After Seat Allotment

Once a seat has been allotted and accepted, candidates must complete the online reporting process, which is one of the most important stages of JoSAA counselling.

The process includes:

  • Payment of the required admission fee.

  • Uploading all prescribed documents.

  • Responding to any queries raised by the verifying authorities.

  • Completing all formalities before the specified deadline.

Candidates must ensure that every document is uploaded correctly and all verification-related queries are resolved within the stipulated timeline.

Final Deadline to Resolve Document Verification Queries

JoSAA has clearly stated that all pending document verification queries related to Round 5 must be resolved by July 21, 2026.

Failure to respond to verification queries or submit the required documents before the deadline may result in:

  • Cancellation of the allotted seat.

  • Loss of admission opportunity.

  • Removal from the JoSAA counselling process.

Candidates are therefore advised to regularly check their JoSAA login portal and complete every pending requirement well before the deadline.

What Happens After JoSAA Round 5?

With Round 5 concluding the JoSAA counselling process for 2026, candidates who secure and confirm their seats can proceed with institute-specific admission formalities. Those who do not receive a seat or wish to participate in further admission opportunities can register for the CSAB Special Counselling, which will fill the remaining vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs beginning July 28, 2026.

Students are encouraged to keep all necessary documents ready, adhere to the counselling timeline, and complete every admission-related formality within the prescribed deadlines to avoid any cancellation of their allotted seat.
