The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially revised the NEET PG 2025 qualifying cut-off scores in compliance with directions issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The decision follows the declaration of NEET PG 2025 results on August 19, 2025.
As per a Ministry communication dated January 9, 2026, approval has been granted to lower the minimum qualifying percentile for candidates participating in the third round of NEET PG counselling for the 2025–26 academic session. This move is aimed at facilitating seat allocation and optimising utilisation of available postgraduate medical seats.
Revised NEET PG 2025 Qualifying Percentiles (Academic Session 2025–26)
(As notified by NBEMS — applicable for Round 3 counselling)
(Percentiles as announced; ranks remain unchanged)
NBEMS has clarified that NEET PG 2025 ranks will remain exactly the same as published on August 19, 2025, and only the qualifying cut-off has been modified.
“Eligibility is provisional and will be verified through MBBS/FMGE aggregate marks, Face ID, or biometric checks at the time of admission,” NBEMS stated.
The board further explained that aggregate marks obtained in all MBBS Professional examinations or the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), as declared in the NEET PG application form, will be cross-verified with original documents during admission. Where aggregate marks were used for tie-breaking, the same will be reflected on the candidate’s scorecard.
NBEMS has issued a strict warning that any incorrect information submitted in the application form, if used to resolve a tie, will lead to cancellation of the candidate’s NEET PG 2025 candidature.
Additionally, candidates foundengaging in unfair practices at any stage of the examination or counselling process will face strict penal action by NBEMS, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), or the concerned counselling authority. Even if such candidates are declared successful, their results or candidature will be cancelled.
For any clarifications or assistance, candidates may contact NBEMS at 011-45593000 or raise queries through the NBEMS Communication Web Portal.
Aspirants are strongly advised to regularly monitor the official MCC website for the latest updates related to NEET PG 2025 counselling and seat allotment.
