Training & Placements
The Department of Training & Placements functions tirelessly and endeavours to provide job opportunities keeping in mind the students' preference and strength. In the ever changing technological world where today's technology becomes outdated tomorrow, we fully understand the Corporate expectation from students. Based on this understanding, we have signed MOUs with leading training companies for providing communication, soft skills and technical training. The comprehensive training program commences from the first semester onwards with Communication Skills, second semester with Personality Development Program. In the second and third year, the students are trained on the latest technology with at least two certifications. In the final year, the students undergo an intensive placement training leading to a successful career launch.

The Department has also signed MOUs with leading Companies for Industry-Institute Collaboration, through which regular guest lectures from Industry are arranged. Also real-time projects are sourced to the students for testing their skills.

Velalar College of Engineering and Technology is very good in infrastructure and facilities. Placements: About 60% of the students were placed from our college. The starting salary offered is around Rs. 15,000-20,000 per month.

The college has a dynamic and well-established "Training and Placement Cell" headed by a Dean/Placement and assisted by two placement Officers along with one faculty co-coordinator from each Department as well as student co-coordinators from each Department.

Placement is the main institutional activity to extends job opportunities to the students under proper guidance. The placement cell interacts with many organizations across the country for arranging campus interviews for the placement of final year students.

The training and placement call arranges career guidance programmes (CGP), soft skills programmes, personality, development programmes through external experts. Such programmes are arranged for the students to develop their communication skills and to build their self-confidence. Also trainings in aptitude and in C,C++ language are arranged to improve their technical knowledge. Before the campus interviews, mock interviews are conducted to enhance the skills of the students and to motivate them in order to enable them to face the interviews successfully. The pre-final year students are also trained with the help of expertise of final year students (already placed)

MOUs have been signed with reputed companies for soft skills, guest lectures, industrial visits, project guidance and recruitments.

The Training and placement Department initiate its activities since beginning of session. The team of department consists of a training and placement officer, assisted by a training and placement faculty in charge of each department. The committed team of the training and placement involves in developing liaison with corporate world and ensures quality placements of fresh graduates..

Through discussions with distinguished alumni entrepreneurs and top cadres in reputed organizations, the Training and Placement department organizes expert talks for students to enlighten them about placement activities, general requirements of the companies and how to prepare themselves for the campus selection. The department conducts in-house special training programs for the students to update and enhance their skills. The training program includes all modules of campus recruitment programs e.g. aptitude test, verbal and non verbal test, developing habits of success, preparation for group discussion and preparation for technical as well as H.R. interviews. Such motivational programs are designed using in-house human resource and by calling management experts from industries. Department also provide facility for students to undergo implant training during vacation through its MOUs and association with industries.
