NEET 2026 Exam to Be Conducted Nationwide on May 3; Application Window Opens Till March 8: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), India’s single largest medical entrance examination, will be conducted across the country on May 3, as per the latest announcement highlighted in a leading Tamil daily report dated February 8, 2026. Alongside the exam date, authorities have also confirmed that the online application process has commenced and will remain open until March 8.


NEET serves as the mandatory entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical courses in government and private institutions nationwide. Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for the exam, making it one of the most competitive entrance tests in the country.

NEET 2026: Key Highlights

According to the announcement, the NEET examination will be held on a single day across all states and union territories, following the traditional pen-and-paper format. The exam will test candidates on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology)based on the prescribed NCERT syllabus.

The notification further states that online applications are being accepted from today, and eligible candidates must complete the registration process on or before March 8 to be considered for the examination. Late submissions are unlikely to be entertained once the deadline passes.
