The national-level exam - a gateway to M.Tech, Ph.D. admissions and recruitment opportunities in premier Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) - will be conducted across India in early February 2026.
Current Status: Admit Card Delay & Official Response
Candidates had earlier expected the admit card to be issued on January 2, 2026, via the official GOAPS portal (gate2026.iitg.ac.in), but the release has been postponed by the exam authority. A revised date is now awaited and is expected to be announced imminently on the official GATE website.
Why This Matters
The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled to take place on:
February 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2026, in computer-based test format.
The admit card is a mandatory document for all candidates; without it, entry into the exam hall will not be permitted.
