The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has invited applications for its Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) 2026. Students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses (excluding those from IIT Delhi) are eligible to apply for this opportunity. The last date to submit the IIT Delhi SRFP 2026 application form is April 3, 2026 (till 5 PM).

The IIT Delhi Summer Research Fellowship Programme is conducted over a duration of eight weeks, during which selected candidates will work on research and development projects. The list of shortlisted candidates is expected to be announced in the first week of May 2026. The fellowship programme will be held from May 13 to July 13, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for IIT Delhi Summer Research Fellowship 2026

As per the official eligibility guidelines, undergraduate students (from institutions other than IIT Delhi) who have completed a minimum of two years of their engineering programme and are ranked among the top ten in their respective branch or course are eligible to apply.

For postgraduate applicants, students pursuing MTech or ME programmes must have completed at least one semester. Additionally, they should be among the top ten rank holders and must have secured a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.00 on a 10-point scale.

• Complete the registration process

• Log in using the registered username and password

• Fill in required details such as personal information, academic background, research interests, and statement of purpose

• Save the details and submit the application form

Applicants are also required to upload the following documents:

• Recent passport-size photograph (JPG format, 200×230 pixels, maximum size 100 KB)

• Consolidated grade card certificate

• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current institution confirming availability for full-time research work at IIT Delhi during the fellowship period

IIT Delhi Summer Research Fellowship 2026 Benefits

The IIT Delhi Summer Research Fellowship Programme offers several benefits to selected candidates. These include reimbursement of train travel expenses (sleeper class) for travel to and from IIT Delhi, accommodation and meals in the institute’s hostels, and a weekly stipend of INR 2,000.

Participants will be enrolled as visiting students for the duration of the programme, and no registration fee will be charged.
