Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Padur, Kelambakkam has conducted a mega Job Mela on (30.04.2022) Saturday. Candidates with qualifications of 8th standard to PG degree participated and secured job placements. Companies like HDFC, SURYODAY BANK, TECH MAHINDRA, MUTHOOT FINANCE, ABT MARUTI, TECH INDIA, INFOWAY PVT LTD, BANK BAZAAR, MEDICO HEALTH CARE, GLOBALINNOVATIVES, and more than 61 companies were present to offer jobs. More than 600 candidates from different parts of Tamil Nadu participated in the Job Mela and 342 candidates secured their desired job in various companies.

The institution has a strong commitment to provide placement to students. In this regard a placement office is established to streamline the placement process. Based on the performance, the selected students are issued placement offers. The students join the organization on due dates after completion of the entire course and appearing in the final examination.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Sri Ganesh College of Arts and Science provide an environment that fosters not only the intellectual but also the overall personality development to its students. The Department of Placement & Training was established as a separate entity in the year 1997. The Department presently coordinates with many leading organizations which recruits Engineers/Technocrafts and GET/ PGET's for entry level positions in their respective organizations. In the year of inception, the department modestly established contact with about 47 organizations and placed 172 number of students. With every passing year, the number of recruiting organizations have increased in geometric progression on an average of about 250 nationally renowned organizations visiting the campus annually to conduct their recruitment process in our campus. Each year, we invite our industry partners and other reputed organizations to the college campus to participate in the placement process for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. We connect to invited companies, discuss their requirements and mutually agree on a tentative date for doing the placement drive. We also connect to all students, collate the student data, get their registrations for placements and brief them the placement policy and rules before the placement season starts for all the final year students.

We follow the below placement process for smooth running of placement drives and the post selection steps of offer acceptance, pre-joining formalities and the candidate joining process:

We get the job requirements, position description, eligibility criteria, salary details and the company introduction note that we can share with students.
We publish the company details and their requirements to all students through a college internal portal.
Eligible and interested students apply for jobs by registering themselves on the portal.
We send eligible and interested students list to the company with all the student data like degree/department, date of birth, prior education marks, current CGPA, backlogs, etc.
Companies will review the students, shortlist if required and send the final list of students prior to the placement drive date.
Visiting companies will start with pre-placement talk on drive date and directly interact with the eligible students. During these sessions, they will provide overviews of the job profiles, job descriptions, compensation, company’s expectations and other specific requirements. Students will clarify any questions they have with company delegates.
Companies typically conduct Written Tests, Group Discussions/Case Studies and Personal Interviews as part of the placement process.
Most companies announce the selected students by end of day on the drive date. Further to this, Company’s HR team confirms selected students list by a mail.
As a post selection process, Companies send formal offer letters to the individual students with a copy to placement department.
We connect to students and follow through the acceptance process and any other post offer activities like document submissions, briefing sessions, trainings, internships, etc.

   The Career Guidance & Placement Cell of Thiruthangal Nadar College functions under the direct control and directions of the Secretary& correspondent and the Principal of the College to enhance a good placement for the students. Since most of our students are come from low poverty .

Objectives:

DG Government Arts College For Women has a placement record of 6.8% for 3 year UG course. The median package offered for the batch ending 2020-21 at DG Government Arts College For Women was INR 130000 Lakh.

The highest package received is 6 LPA, and the lowest package is around Rs. 80,000 per annum. Many students have joined private clinics and also government hospitals. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is really good.

1. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell focuses on the assistance and guidance for the students in discovering their strengths, sharpening their interests and planning for their career development through various programmes such as orientation seminars, training programmes on soft skills, etc.
   

Placements: Most of our seniors are placed at MNCs like Britannia, ITC Limited, and Infosys, as well as top companies and banks like Accenture, Canara Bank, V Star, etc. Almost 100% of students get internships during their courses because of the university status in Tirupati town. Every student is allowed to do an internship in the respective field after completing their second semester exams.

The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) serves as the platform for interaction between the college students and companies since June 2004. TPC assists desired final year students to get suitable job after completion of their program. However, the training and grooming commences from the very first year. Spotting talent, classification, working on the strengths and weaknesses of students has been the hallmark of our endeavors. TPC conducts Training programs to enhance soft skills and overall personality of students in association with industry and academic experts. Invitation Letters/e-mails are sent to various companies, organizations for conducting campus drives. The internships are also provided to the interested students to groom them to become job ready. As Companies approach for Campus Recruitment, students will be intimated via the Student mail. According to the Criteria set by the Company, eligible students alone will be allowed to register for the Campus Drive.
Kindly note that the option to register for Specific Campus Drives will be allowed only for a shorter period. Date and time will be informed.
Students can view all information regarding the company and the job profile in the Student mail itself. If required, circulars/job descriptions will be circulated for the same.
Students will also be receiving online application forms or links via mail with specified deadlines.
