NTA Reopens CUET UG 2026 Exam City Reallocation Window for Students Allotted Distant Centres: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reopened the exam city reallocation facility for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 after receiving complaints from students who were allotted examination centres far from their preferred locations.

According to the latest official update, the agency has identified vacant seats in selected cities for specific subject combinations and examination dates. This has enabled authorities to provide another opportunity to affected candidates to modify their examination city preferences.

The NTA stated that nearly 96.6 percent of registered candidates were allotted one of their preferred exam cities, while around 79 percent received their first-choice city allocation. However, some candidates were assigned centres outside their selected locations due to logistical constraints and subject combination availability.

Candidates who wish to make changes can log in to the official CUET portal and select from the available vacant slots. The facility is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis, making it important for students to complete the process quickly before seats are filled. Revised admit cards will be issued to those whose requests are successfully processed.

The CUET UG 2026 admit cards have already been released by NTA, and candidates can download them through the official website by entering their application number and password or date of birth. The admit card contains important details including examination centre, reporting time, shift timing, and subject allocation.

The CUET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across examination centres in India and selected international locations. Each examination shift will be three hours long, during which candidates may appear for one or multiple subjects depending on their application choices.

This year, more than 15.68 lakh students have registered for the entrance examination. On average, candidates selected over four subjects each, leading to approximately 67.5 lakh test attempts across various subject combinations. Authorities revealed that more than 8.6 lakh candidates opted for five subjects, highlighting the massive scale of the examination process.

Students are advised to carefully check all details mentioned on their admit cards, including examination city, date, and shift timing. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre. The NTA has also instructed candidates to report to their centres well before the scheduled reporting time to avoid inconvenience on exam day.

The reopening of the city allocation window is expected to provide significant relief to students facing travel difficulties and long-distance centre allotments, ensuring a smoother examination experience for candidates across the country.
