50% of the total seats (Govt. Quota seats) are filled by (Commissioner of Entrance Exam – CEE through KEAM) and the remaining 50% seats in Management Quota (including Muthoot Employee Quota) filled by MITS through online application and preparing MITS merit rank list.

We don’t collect any donation/deposit & no extra fees other than above in the entire 4 year course except Rs 10,000 as refundable Caution Deposit
In fee Category 1 & 2 combined, a maximum of 24 seats (12 in Management quota & 12 in Govt.Quota) will be allocated in a batch of 60. Once this allocation is over the student will be allotted to Category 3. If a tie occurs KEAM rank will be used to break the tie.

*CSE and allied courses include CSE (120 seats), CSE(AI) (60 seats), and AI&DS (60 seats)

For continuation of scholarship please refer to the eligibility criteria given below. An academic year is comprised of TWO semesters. Semester fee payments are due before January 15th and July 15th of any year.

#Other fees include University Registration fee/PTA fund/office & stationary charges/student enrichment program offered by MITS like Cambridge BEC training & certification (1stYear), (IDP) Individual development plan (2nd & 3rd Year), paid Dept./Industry certified Add on courses (3rd & 4th year) irrespective of any category admitted.

For govt. quota students Rs.10,000/- for caution deposit will be adjusted with the advance paid to CEE during allotment.

There are five categories of tuition fees (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) under which candidates are admitted under Government Quota mentioned in the above table.

Candidates belonging to the first four categories (1,2,3,4) are eligible for scholarships amounting to the difference of actual tuition & special fee for Government quota and category 1,2,3 tuition fee & special fee in Table 1. (Government quota tuition & special fees per year is Rs. 75000/-)

The management may consider taking Mathematics marks of +1 and +2 combined from state boards for considering scholarship for 2021 admissions to balance with CBSE/ISC criteria.

Criteria for Continuation of Scholarship

• Any student admitted in category 1 or 2 in GQ as per the above table failing in at least one subject/not able to maintain minimum SGPA (7.5 SGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 SGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration, will slide to cat. 4 in the first instance (further max to Cat. 5).

• Any student admitted in category 3 or 4 in GQ as per the above table failing in at least one subject/not able to maintain minimum SGPA (7 SGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 SGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration, will slide to cat . 5 in the first instance.

• If a student in subsequent semester earns 8 SGPA he/she can return to maximum Cat.4 but not to Cat.1, 2 or 3.

• If a student admitted in Cat.5 in subsequent semester earn 8 SGPA he/she can jump to maximum Cat.4 but not to Cat.1, 2 or 3.

CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY / PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION – Government Quota

Candidates must be citizens of India.
Pass in Higher Secondary examination of the Board of HSE of Kerala or an examination recognized thereto.
Candidates should qualify the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala.
50 % of the total seats are filled by Commissioner of Entrance Exam – CEE.
For Govt. Quota seats, candidates have to apply online with the college code MUT and branch of preference as and when announced by the Commissioner of the Entrance Examination.
AICTE TUITION FEE WAIVER SCHEME (TFW) : 5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and family income) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme.
ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS) : 5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and EWS Certificate uploaded in CEE website) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme. Candidates have to select MUT and apply under EWS quota in CEE Portal.

MITS, Ernakulam Infrastructure and Facilities:
Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science has a large and well-maintained campus and offers a tranquil learning environment. The buildings are modern and equipped with the latest technology from the Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, which facilitates teaching and teacher development. The classrooms, units, and laboratories of the Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science are spacious, comfortable, and designed to ensure the highest quality of education. The library is excellent too, with a huge range of books, online resources, and knowledgeable librarians.

Library:
MITS, Ernakulam library occupies two floors with a total area of ?? 18,000 square feet. It has an extensive collection of books, scientific and technical journals, and electronic reference materials to meet the academic and research needs of the student and teaching community. The library offers its customers comfortable and aesthetic study places. Library operations are fully automated with Koha Integrated Library System software with built-in automated gate registration using a smart card reader. Arranged on public shelves for easy searching and retrieval, the books are classified according to Dewey's 23rd Edition Decimal Classification System. The AACR2-compliant online computer catalog (OPAC) makes searching quick and easy. The library provides access to the electronic content of information from the DSpace Digital Repository.

The library has a total of approximately 14,000 physical collections, including 1,500 reference titles. A rich collection of general titles, consisting of soft skills books, a collection of fiction, and competitive exams, draws voracious readers to the library.

Hostels:
MITS, Ernakulam Hostels Rooms are made available to students in shared flats. Each student has a cot, locker, table, and chair in their room, ensuring maximum comfort. The hostel is equipped with internet access, restrooms, a prayer room, and a gym. The hostel has an uninterruptible power supply from a 125KVA generator.

Men's Hostel - Adam's House near campus accommodates 480 students. The hostel rooms are spacious and equipped with the latest comforts. Each student gets a cot, locker, table, and chair in their room. The hostel also offers parking, a hygienic dining room, a lobby, a prayer room, and internet access.

Gymnasium:
To accommodate physical and mental fitness, the college has a gymnasium with the latest exercise equipment and equipment. Well-equipped male and female gyms are available in the respective student and faculty residence blocks on campus. House Gym is a popular place for students who otherwise would not have access to such facilities. Students and faculty are encouraged to use the facility, which includes various machines such as a treadmill, stepper, seated chest press, twister, etc.

Canteen:
MITS, Ernakulam canteen is located on campus. A lively place on campus where students can enjoy a good meal and engage in stimulating discussions. The canteen with an open kitchen offers space for around 250 students at the same time. In line with the digital age, cashless transactions are encouraged. The College Canteen is located on the Ramanujan block, where students love to share food they have brought from home. There is also a snack bar in the canteen where students can enjoy delicious delicacies.

Sports:
MITS, Ernakulam maintains a high standard in almost every game of athletics and sports when the engineering colleges of Kerala meet. We have always strived for excellence in sports and games, as well as in science. The annual college Athletics Meet is a major event where students compete in athletics events in large numbers. The Department of Physical Education organizes training and systematic practice for players of various games throughout the year. For a competitive experience and visibility, MITS teams compete in almost every intercollegiate sports and gaming tournament. The Department of Physical Education holds interdepartmental competitions to provide a competitive experience, as well as interaction with other classmates, teachers, youth, and seniors to develop friendships, leadership and championships, and ultimately a competitive spirit. Our students have consistently been successful in sporting events at an intercollegiate level and have won multiple laurels. The college has extensive facilities for big games like basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, ball toss, etc., indoor games like table tennis and billiards, etc. It also has a very well-equipped Health Club with excellent facilities for developing a beautiful and athletic body.

MITS provide transportation facility from various locations of Ernakulum district (Kaloor, Aluva, Angamaly, Kothamangalam etc.) to the College. The institution is having eight college buses in its fleet which caters the transportation needs of over 350 students. Buses are also utilised for industrial visits and other social service activities.

Rules and Regulations

Ragging inside the college bus is strictly prohibited

Students should wear ID card marked with ‘B’

Students are supposed to show their ID card whenever asked by any faculty.

College bus fees is paid for six months at a time and are collected during the month of February and August of a year.

Fees can be paid without fine till 15th of February and August. Further payment will attract late fees of Rs 20/- per day.

College bus facility is available only on regular working days.

No college bus is provided for any special class conducted by the faculty unless specified by the Head of Institution.

For discontinuing the bus facility, students should fill Conveyance Cancellation Form and submit the ID card (with ‘B’) to the staff in charge and get a new card.

Any sort of misbehavior in the college bus is bound to face disciplinary action.

Students are supposed to obey the instructions from the faculty members.

Parents/students are strictly not allowed to block any college bus or manhandle drivers; in case of any grievance kindly report to college authorities.

College bus does not wait for any student/staff unless it arrives before the expected time.

Unauthorized entry into the college bus will be penalized.
