    D G Vaishnav College (Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College), commonly known as DDGDVC is a Linguistic Minority Institute and a Liberal Arts, Commerce and Science College established by the Rajasthanis and Gujaratis settled in Chennai for the cause of higher education.   The college was founded on the principles of Vaishnavism, with the sole purpose of imparting knowledge and  Value-based quality education to empower the youth.  The college saw its grand day on 30th June 1964 with one course in B.Sc. Mathematics with Shri. Totadri Iyengar (teacher of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's Teacher) as its first Principal. 

   D G Vaishnav College has been a haven for generations of enthusiastic learners through five decades and more. The college has seen a phenomenal growth in terms of its infrastructure, its constantly restructured and revamped curriculum to cater to the specific needs of the students community. Outstanding performance of the students in academics and extension activities has enabled the college to emerge one of the premier institutions of higher learning.

  The College is located in the Arumbakkam locality of Chennai, which is a hub for many shops and markets, as well as the most famous Koyambedu Market and Bus Stand.

  The College now has 7 UG and 6 PG (Aided), 12 UG and 11 PG (Self-Supporting) programmes. Research Programmes such as M.Phil, (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Mathematics ) and Ph.D. (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Computers) has become part of the academic curriculum.

   The College has been conferred the status of "AUTONOMY" by the UGC and endorsed by the University of Madras from the academic year 2009 - 2010. Consequently, students admitted to various UG, PG and M.Phil courses during the academic year 2009 - 2010 will come under Autonomous pattern. The current batch of IInd Year & IIIrd Year UG Students and IInd Year PG Students will continue under affiliated mode.  The extension of Autonomy was given by the UGC upto 2032-2033.  It was recently reaccredited by NAAC with A++ grade ( CGPA of 3.54 /4) in 3rd cycle.

   D G Vaishnav College has five National Social Service (NSS) units of which one is exclusively for the girl students.  In addition National Cadet Corps (NCC) has two Army wings in the college.

   Outstanding performance of the students in academics and extension activities has enabled the college to emerge one of the premier institutions of higher learning.  The curriculum is reviewed and updated periodically, in keeping with the changes in the diverse disciplines of arts, commerce, science and technology. An interdisciplinary, multi disciplinary approach in designing the course work is adopted to ensure industry - academia collaboration. The college has entered into collaborations with many reputed institutions / organizations.

   The College is focussed on its vission to impart Value-based quality Academia and to empower its students with wisdom to charge them with rich Indian traditions and culture as well as to invoke the self and  to broaden the same towards Nation-building, Harmony and Universal brotherhood.

  The college admits students to PG courses through entrance exam scores as well as the performance of the candidate in group discussion and personal interview. Candidates must hold a graduate degree to be eligible for the admission to the postgraduate programs.

Inviting corporate trainers and Domain experts to train the students on specific requirements and make them Industry ready.
To conduct workshops, Guest Lectures, Motivational sessions, Career Guidance programs for the students to select the right career choice.
Arranging Faculty Development program, Technical Seminars by inviting the Resource Persons from Industry for both Faculty members and
Inviting the regular recruiters and top-notch companies every year to Conduct Campus Recruitments programs for the final year students.
Coordinating with the HR professionals for conducting the campus recruitment drive and facilitate the entire selection process from Pre Placement Talk to the distribution of offer letters.
Arranging Industrial visits, In-Plant Training, Internships for the students to understand the industry expectations and requirements.
To establish Centre of Excellence, execute MOU’s in association with top companies to impart hands-on training on the latest technology for the Students.

   Loan/ Scholarship Provisions: The fees structure of my department mathematics is around 7000 per year And also at the end of the year, eligible students will get a scholarship for around 4000 per year The scholarship name is the EVR Nagamai scholarship
