Government Law College, Ramanathapuram – GLC-RMP started in the year 2017, affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai pioneer institution catering to the needs of the southern Districts of Tamilnadu. Over the years this institution boasts of a Legal Education with Law Faculty of high caliber who dedicate themselves to the welfare of the students and are highly motivated to prepare our students.

Located at Perungulam, Ramanathapuram, Government Law College, Ramanathapuram stands on a 15 Acres Campus. The college has an excellent ambience of village grace. Though the college is being run temporarily in a government school building, efforts are in progress for shifting to the new building in Kuthakottai Panchayat. Ramanathapuram Railway Station is 5.2 Kms from the College and Madurai Airport is 120 Kms away.

GLC-RMP is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest rating of A++ and offers 2 Undergraduate Courses - a 5 Year B.A, LL.B and a 3 Year LL.B It also has 1 Postgraduate Course, which is a 2 Year Full Time LL.M Course.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate 5 Year B.A., LL.B Course allow:s candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate 3 Year LL.B Course is allowed for candidates who have passed a Three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.

Eligibility for the Postgraduate, LL.M Course is eligible for candidate who has passed the B.L. Degree Examination and has secured not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in all the Three Years of the Three Year B.L. Degree Course or in all Five Years of the Five Year B.L. Degree Course together, as the case may be, shall be eligible to apply for the M.L. Degree Course. However a relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belong in to SC/ST communities.
