Our Institution offers five year integrated BA, LLB and three year LLB Courses where the students will also undergo Internships, Moot Courts, Simulation and Negotiation exercises every year to get acquainted with the actual functioning of the Courts and Tribunals. Our emphasis is on innovative learning which we achieve by unique teaching and value imparting style, it encompasses the conceptual inputs and hand-on approach legal issues.

The name of Government Law College, Salem is steadily embarking its way to be added in the Hall of Fame in the history of Legal Education in Tamil Nadu and stepping stones of success had already been strongly laid down by our beloved Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru Edappadi K.Palanisamy who’s dream vision was to start a LAW COLLEGE in the City of Salem to cater the needs of many students who are aspiring to learn law in this region.

Admission Procedure

Admission to 3 Year (B.L. ) / 5 Year (B.A. B.L.) Degree Course is based on Academic Merit through counseling.

ELIGIBILITY – 5 YEAR COURSE

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.
For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.

ELIGIBILITY – 3 YEAR COURSE

Candidates who have passed a three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.

Placements :

The placements at Government Law College are good. About 20 lakh is the highest whereas 8 lakh to 10 lakhs is the average. The companies that regularly visit the campus are Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB and Ernst and Young. The internships are not offered on campus and students need to work on it themselves.
