Government Law College, Tiruchirapalli - GLCT was established in the year 1979. The college is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai & approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It is administered by the Tamil Nadu’s Department of Legal Studies and is considered a pioneer for legal education in Central Tamilnadu. The current Principal of GLCT is Dr. M. Rajeswaran, M.L., Ph.D

GLCT is situated on the Race Course Road, Khajamalai, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. The college has world class infrastructure with separate administrative, academic & students blocks. The campus is spread over 13 acres of land.

GLCT offers 2 Undergraduate Courses - a 5 Year B.A, LL.B and a 3 Year LL.B It also has 1 Postgraduate Course, which is a 2 Year Full Time LL.M Course.

​The Government Law College in Tiruchirappalli offers a 5-year Bachelor of Laws (B.L.) degree program.
