Idhaya College for Women is one of the ancient and prestigious institutions run by the Franciscan Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary , Pondichery in the jubilee year 2000. The College has a student strength numbering to about 3200, Pursuing 10 under Graduate, 8 post Graduate and 5 Research Program and one Doctoral degree in Tamil. The College aims at training young women of quality to be leaders in all walks of life and, serve their fellow men in justice, truth and love.
The College is located in the pilgrim city of Kumbakonam and affiliated to Bharathidhasan University. The college is situated near the railway station and the Bus-stand where relevant transport facilities are available. The climate of the town is very moderate and favourable to the students at all circumstances. A good hostel facility with hygienic food and fresh air accommodation is available. The fresh air, sweet medicated water and vast area make the campus very healthy. The serene area provides a conductive atmosphere for the students to concentrate on their studies. The existing building consists of Administrative Block, Computer Block, Lingual Block, Library Block, Conference Hall, Hostel Blocks, Amenities Block, and Canteen for the students and staff members of the college.

The total building blithe area is 13 ½ sq feet. This great temple of higher learning has produced a number of Academicians, Educationists, Scientists, Administrators, Intellectuals, Social Workers, Computer Professionals and others of national and international repute.

he candidates who are provisionally selected for admission will be initiated. They have to pay the fees before the due-date.

The following should be produced at the time of admission.

Transfer and conduct certificate is original.
Tamilnadu Higher Secondary Certificate (or its equivalent certificate in original).
Candidates who have passed an examination other than Tamilnadu Higher Secondary should produce Eligibility Certificate from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli.
Undergraduates, post graduates and Research studies from other university should furnish an eligibility certificate from Bharathidasan University, Thirichirapalli.
Ten Passport size photograph (2.5'x 2")
Community Certificate in original and two photo copies(Xerox) attested by a Gazzetted officer.
Admission
Application for U.G. Programmes should be submitted within 10 days from the publication of the +2 examination results, and for P.G. courses within 10 working days from the publication of the U.G. Examination results of Bharathidasan University. Applications received thereafter may not be considered.

When a Certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable for cancellation, besides criminal action being taken

Placements:B.Sc. CS in Idhaya college for Women. Above 90 percentage students got placement who could do things efficiently. TCS and Wipro are the top companies who had made a placement in our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions: In 2009 - 2012 the fee structure is nearly Rs.7500/- per semester for Commerce Department. I have no idea about other departments. Minority Scholarship is available, and they provide them there. Rs.4,500/- per year they gave as a scholarship amount
