School, This school was established by management of great vision. It is approved by the State Board of Matriculation Schools and has classes from LKG to 12th STD. This school is a Co-educational English Medium School, well equipped and established with capacious bright class rooms and practical. The school is fostering by a team of dedicated Teachers and headed by its Correspondent Kalvi Thandhai Dr. C.Palanivel M.A., M.ED., M.Phil., Ph.D., and it's Secretary Mrs.Maheswari Palanivel M.A.,B.Ed.,
In the year 2004 Palanieswari educational trust under the inspiring leadership of, Kalvi Thandhai Dr. C.Palanivel M.A., M.ED., M.Phil.,Ph.D., who is the founder and chairman of the trust, has made strides over the past twenty four years to promote higher education with a deep sense of social commitment. Today the trust boasts of having a group of institutions that offer courses in Modern Arts and Science College, B.Ed., D.Ted., Polytechnic and Prabakar memorial high school in Jayankondam.
The Institutions namely Modern Arts and Science College, Modern Teacher Training Institution, Modern College of Education and Modern Polytechnic College have been rendering excellent service to the student community at large towards helping them achieve their dreams in their respective professional courses over the last ten years. Our motive to provide qualitative man-making education that would send well disciplined, responsible, self reliant and excelling both in academics and co-curricular activities. Our Chairman got "KALVI CHUDAR" award. In 2013 he got "KALVI THANDHAI" award. This was given by reporters and Press Media Association.

Admission Procedures
All admissions to the various courses of College are made as per the guidelines of Bharathiar University and Tamil Nadu State Government. Application for admission to the College should be submitted only in the prescribed form available in the College Office and the Website.
Normally, admissions are done only once in a year in the beginning of the academic year.

Placement Cell in Modern Arts & Science plays a crucial role and is becoming a key department of the institute. With a tremendous growth in number of colleges, and relative increase in competitions among job seekers, the need for our young budding graduates to outline these situations becomes important. This makes the job of the placement wing a challenging one. A full-fledged Placement Cell of our college takes every effort to expose the students to the wide-ranging career prospects and helps them to march out of our portal with confidence.
There are five staff coordinators from different departments of our college, holding hands with the placement officer to educate students of all departments about our Placement Cell and its functioning and to respond to their career needs and doubts. The aim of the cell is to ensure that the students attain the knowledge and skills necessary for an effective job search. Excellent career guidance for students is also given in our Placement Cell so that they may easily pick the career that they could thrive.
A large number of prospective companies are contacted and efforts are made to invite those companies to visit our college to recruit our students on campus. Reputed industrial houses across the country visit our institute regularly for the campus recruitment programmes. The Placement Cell coordinates quite well with the corporate sector and providing all requisites to facilitate the campus selection programmes. The Cell maintains a very cordial relationship with all the recruiting industries.
The College has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. Placement Cell is provided with all audio visual facilities for all stages of interviews. Training activities are organized in an effort to prepare the students for the campus selection programmes.

The College helps to the students to receive scholarships from the following government bodies as per the Government norms.
Library
The Central Library is spread over a floor space of about 300 sq. mtrs. The Central Library stocks more than 10,000 books of various subjects in medical and allied health sciences. Reputed journals, both Indian and foreign are available in departmental libraries. The total number of books in the central and departmental library runs over 10,000 titles.
Computerized catalogues of the library holdings as well as a card index are available for the students. Further, there is provision of modern bar code and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) technology to facilitate for user friendly, quick and easy search facility for the students and faculty.
Computer Science Lab
Both UG lab and PG lab, we have servers which is used for LAN connection and sharing purpose. We have needed equipments to finish our work properly. Students have sufficient printer facility; by using the printers students prepare their own practical records notes.
Scanner is used for various purposes; students are allowed to scan their mark sheets for placement purpose. By using scanner we scan the student’s arts to prepare magazines. It is also used for AICTE Work and seminars.
INTERNET FACILITY
In both UG and PG lab we have two systems with Internet facility which is used to students in various purposes. By using net connection they can search for paper presentation, seminars, quiz, other extracurricular activities and students can enrich their knowledge. For staffs, they can develop their knowledge in our filed and prepare for seminars, conferences and other subject related searching.

Collaborative learning environment, simple, friendly and non-intimidating classroom technology inspires the presenters who rely on improvisation, spontaneity and audience participation
All the classrooms are ‘smart’, with high-speed data networks and LCD projectors for audio and video.
Classroom computer supports interactive learning, facilitating a shift from disclosing information to processing information from 70% presentation and 30% demonstration. These changes in the teaching and learning process enhance the students who are more actively engaged in the classroom environment.
Medical Facility
Health care of students is given top priority in our campus. An in-house dispensary is kept open at all times to attend emergency needs. Parents are informed if the problem is serious. In the residential campus, doctor visits daily to look after the health needs of students.
If necessary, the problems are referred to specialists, Student's are transferred to a city hospital under specialists care in case of any serious problem. A qualified staff nurse stays in the campus to attend on sick students.
Canteen Facility
• At the canteen, dishing out menus are highly popular among students as well as staffs.
• Students enjoy their food in the clean, well maintained, aesthetic and appetizing atmosphere .Most people fondly remember their college canteen as one of their life’s high points.
• It is the place where they keep their creative juices flowing with hot discussions, chewing ideas, exchanging and sharing strongly held opinions and eatables. A variety of hygienic food and snack items includes Variety Rices,Cakes,Fresh Juices,Fruits,Ice Creams.
• Canteen has become a welcome break for both the students and staffs and is the daily hob-nob after college hours.The canteen is the lifeblood of the students. The homely atmosphere and aroma of delicious food permeates the air as they eat,drink and chat. It remains a focal place of the students for rest and refreshment.
• Menus of different varieties for both day vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Students are free to design the menus on a request to the Principal/ Chief Warden.
• Canteen opens from 8.30am to 6.30 pm.
Transport Facility
Our Institution operates buses to pick up and _ pupils. The buses are operated by experts and maintained by the transport manager. The safety and punctuality are fully guaranteed.
Parents are requested to kindly go through the following rules
Bus policy & guidelines::
1. We provide a Gent's escort on the bus at all times.
2. Students should be ready and waiting at their stops 5 minutes before pick up time..
3. Bus routes are very tightly scheduled so that Students and teachers get to school on time. The buses WILL NOT wait for latecomers either at the stop or at school for the return trip.
4. Each bus is equipped with a phone. Parents are encouraged to use this number to:.
5. Inform the escort on the bus if your child is not attending the school.
6. Check if the bus is running late (for the return trip). Often there is a traffic jam for as long as 15 minutes, and it is not possible to inform every parent.
7. Any changes in pick up/drop off venue should be cleared with the office (in writing). The office will then inform the bus driver of the change.
8. The buses cannot provide door-to-door service, as this increases the time spent commuting to and from school.
Students are expected to maintain proper decorum on the bus. The following are the BUS RULES:
1. Students should remain seated
2. Keep noise levels low
3. Not stick hands or head out of the window.
4. Not be rude to people on the road
5. Not eat on the bus
6. Not litter the bus failing which, penalties will be imposed, including exclusion from the bus service.
