H. K. E. Society's S. L. N. College of Engineering is run by H. K. E. Society of Kalaburgi. Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society popularly known as HKE Society, was established in the year 1958 by Late Sri. Mahadevappa Rampure at Gulbarga. The Society stands differently from others in a way that, it imparts education in the backward areas , with matchable education facilities enjoyed by affluent class in developed areas. The college was started in the year 1979 and offers following Courses awarded by VTU, Belagavi.

Institute shall Impart Technical Education Par Excellence to excel as an institution of an outstanding learning centre in technical education in shaping budding engineers as self-driven individuals of high moral, motivated, enthusiastic to deliver value-based services.

Under Graduate

Admissions – Eligibility BE (UG)

The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre-University or XII Standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory Subjects, along with one of the following subjects :- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics; and has secured not less than Forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the Language for admission to Engineering & Technology Courses.

Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be Forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the *Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes Specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology Courses.

*The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka Candidates belonging to the Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward classes.

Admissions – Eligibility MBA(PG)

A bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university with 50% aggregate marks, and 45% for students belonging to *SC/ST/C1

Over the years, the Institute has made continuous effort to develop the Placement Cell into a fully fledged Department. Placement Cell enjoys the status of one independent Department. It functions round the Year with series of activities. It has two fold thrust areas: to Enhance Employability Skills of Students (Career Development) and to organize Campus Interviews.

Career Development

The academic curriculum focuses mainly on gaining subject knowledge. A polishing is needed to gear up the student with skills required to get employed. Career Development works with following objectives

Scholership

The candidates must be studying in Classes 11 and 12 at a recognised educational institution in India. Applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in the preceding class. The annual family income of the applicants from all sources must be less than or equal to₹2,50,000.

Boys Hostel
The college provides a Separate hostel for Boys. Boys Hostel with a capacity of 174 students with 58 rooms


Girls Hostel
The college provides a Separate hostel for Girls. Girls hostel with a capacity of 128 students with 32 rooms.


Medical/Hospital
The College campus has first aid facilities. RIMS teaching/ hospital is just 1Km away from the college. Regular visiting Doctor on Campus.


Library
The college has a library facility for all students with 28804 Volumes and 8254 Titles and National International Journals. The college has given top priority to Library at par with Faculty and Lab facilities. New Titles are added to sports. The reference & reading section works for Twelve hours from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM and the Lending section from 10.30 A.M. to 5.00 PM. Library Committee is formed by having staff from each Department review Library activities and plan for updates. SC, ST & BCM students get additional books under respective book banks supported by the state Govt. A library has a Unique scheme under Students Book Bank, Lending books by charging a nominal maintenance cost of Rs. 30/- & 90/- per book for the entire semester. This facility is appreciated by students' parents & visiting committees. The library has subscribed to an e-journal through Del Net. Planning to expand e-journal subscriptions for this academic year is in process.


Sports
The college also gives emphasis on the overall development of the students, by encouraging them to participate in indoor and outdoor sports, cultural activities, seminars, excursions, industrial tours, and participation in technical exhibitions. The college has facilities for any kind of indoor and outdoor sports such as a 400-meter track, cricket ground, one basketball court, etc.
