GATE Exam Pattern 2026

To ensure effective preparation, candidates should be thoroughly familiar with the GATE Exam Pattern 2026. The examination is divided into two sectionsGeneral Aptitude (GA) and the candidate’s chosen subject paper. The test includes 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks, to be completed within 3 hours.

Negative marking applies in MCQs: 1/3 mark is deducted for each incorrect 1-mark MCQ, and 2/3 mark is deducted for each incorrect 2-mark MCQ.
