IGNOU Re-Registration 2026: Key Update

Indira Gandhi National Open University has announced another extension for the IGNOU January 2026 re-registration last date. Candidates who have not yet completed the process are advised to submit the IGNOU re-registration form 2026 on or before February 15 to enrol in the upcoming semester. The extended deadline applies to all ODL and online mode programmes, except certificate courses and semester-based programmes.

IGNOU has also clarified that students opting for online programmes must have access to a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and should be comfortable with digital learning. No printed study material will be provided for online courses. However, candidates who prefer physical study material can choose programmes offered under the ODL mode. How to Complete IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 for January Session?

Candidates can complete the IGNOU January 2026 re-registration process by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website www.onlinerr.ignou.ac.in

• Click on the IGNOU January 2026 Re-Registration link available on the homepage

• Log in using your IGNOU User ID, password, and security PIN

• Click on the login button

• Fill out the re-registration form and select the desired course

• Pay the IGNOU re-registration fee and submit the form

• Save and download the confirmation page for future reference

To successfully complete the IGNOU re-registration, candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 300for the January 2026 session for both ODL and online programmes. Earlier, the last date for IGNOU January 2026 re-registration was January 31, 2026. While applying for IGNOU January 2026 ODL programmes, candidates must upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, academic qualification certificates, experience certificate, and category certificate (if applicable).
