When Is the IIM Shortlist Released?
The shortlist for top IIMs is generally released in the first week of January, shortly after the declaration of CAT results. Subsequently, other IIMs release their shortlists in a phased manner throughout the month. By the end of January, all 21 IIMs usually announce their MBA/PGP shortlists.
For institutes participating in the Common Admission Process (CAP), the CAP-conducting IIM releases the PI shortlist form and detailed guidelines on behalf of the participating IIMs. However, WAT–PI shortlists for non-CAP institutes are released individually by the respective institutions.
Is There Any Fee for CAT Form Correction?
No, there is no charge for CAT application form correction. The correction facility is provided free of cost. However, if a candidate makes an error in a field that is not editable during the correction window, they must submit a fresh application form before the deadline and pay the CAT application fee again. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to carefully review all details before final submission. After submission, only the photograph, signature, and test city preferences can be edited.
Can Candidates Fill the CAT Form First and Pay the Fee Later?
Yes, candidates are allowed to complete the CAT application process in multiple stages. It is not mandatory to fill the form and pay the fee on the same day. Once registered and an ID is created, applicants can log in anytime before the last date to complete or edit the application form.
However, the mobile number and email ID cannot be changed after registration. Candidates must ensure that the application form and fee payment are completed before the deadline, as the form will not be considered submitted until the fee is successfully paid. The CAT application fee can be paid using debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI wallets.
