The placement drive covered the 2025-27 batch of the PGP and PGP-BA programmes.
· Number of participating students: 601.
· Number of recruiting companies: 137.
· The placement week ran from October 13 to October 18, 2025.
· Consulting (or “Management Consulting” as the sector is often described) accounted for 46% of all internship offers — up from around 38% last year.
· In the consulting domain: 23 firms made 282 offers. Some of the major recruiters included:
ü Accenture Strategy — 132 offers
ü Boston Consulting Group (BCG) — 24 offers
ü Bain & Company — 18 offers
ü Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) — 15 offers
· Other sectors also showed strong participation: finance/banking/investments, e-commerce/payments/telecom/entertainment, IT/analytics/product-management, FMCG/retail, manufacturing/energy/infrastructure, conglomerates, healthcare/education.
· First-time recruiters made up about 30% of the participating organisations, indicating a widening of the recruiting base.
· The batch size (601) is noted as the largest among all IIMs for that cycle.
Implications & observations:
· The dominance of consulting (46% of offers) suggests strong demand for strategy/corporate-advisory skill sets among students of IIM B.
· The increase from ~38% last year to 46% this year in consulting indicates either stronger student interest in consulting, greater allocation of roles by consulting firms, or a combination of both.
· The presence of large numbers of first-time recruiters signals that IIM B’s talent pool is becoming attractive to newer firms or domains beyond the traditional ones.
· With all 601 participating students securing internships (100% placement among those opting in) and 137 companies recruiting, the placement exercise appears robust.
· The diversification into multiple sectors beyond consulting (finance, tech/product, manufacturing, etc.) may reflect broader career aspirations of students and a widebased demand from industry.
