1. The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) serves as the platform for interaction between the college students and companies since June 2004. TPC assists desired final year students to get suitable job after completion of their program. However, the training and grooming commences from the very first year. The CSI Ewart Women's Christian College Placement Cell of the CSI Ewart Womens Christian College-CSIEWCC supports students in making the right career choices and enables employers to taking the right hiring decisions during recruitment.

The placement and carrier guidance cell (P& CGC) is responsible for carrying out placement related activities.
Irrespective of whether the student is opting for Placements or Higher Studies, students will provide their options in the profile.
If the student opts for Placements, she will be given access to apply for Campus Drives, Placement Trainings, Workshops and Seminars.
If the student opts for Higher Studies, she will be helped with various workshops, seminars to embrace her knowledge for future purpose.

Registration for Placements
All final year students will be displayed of an option in their Student circular for choosing either Placements or Higher Education.
The option will be given in the beginning of the Academic Year for UG final year students. Hence, students are asked to come up with the decision consulting their parents before a registration begins.
Students who have opted for Placements alone will be allowed to register for Campus Drives, of their preference and eligibility, via the Student Profile in the future.

As Companies approach for Campus Recruitment, students will be intimated via the Student mail. According to the Criteria set by the Company, eligible students alone will be allowed to register for the Campus Drive.
Kindly note that the option to register for Specific Campus Drives will be allowed only for a shorter period. Date and time will be informed.
Students can view all information regarding the company and the job profile in the Student mail itself. If required, circulars/job descriptions will be circulated for the same.

MGR University Placement

The Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University, being a medical university, there is no such provision called placement for its students. But there are certain facilities similar to the placement drive, they are as follows:

• The M.B.B.S. students, who have completed the CRBI & obtaining an RMP member with MCI & Tamil Nadu state Medical council can practice as GP.  The candidates will be informed of the vacancies as and when it occurs. Furthermore, the candidates can approach the authorities to know more about the requirement of the GP.
• The P.G. students after completion of their course, and the Upgradation of their degree in both councils can run an independent civilization or hospital or can be a consultant. They can also apply for the assistant professor’s role. The like vacancies are informed to the CDCC so that the junior doctors can be directed with the same
• The candidates with a B.Sc degree and  P. G. Diploma  degree after skilled training  are absorbed in the institution, according to the requirement of the institution itself
• Other Post Doctoral courses are offered to students who are already practicing.
• These working candidates of this university can update their profile & find better placement opportunities.

The highest salary offered was Rs. 100000 per month and the lowest was Rs. 40000 per month. About 90% of students were placed in our course.

The idea of MKU Placement Cell has been initiated by our Honorable Vice- Chancellor on understanding the need for permanent placement to all the students of MKU campus and its affiliated colleges. The reason being that most of the students hailed from rural sector not having required knowledge and inputs related to career planning. Also the university being an apex body for all its ninety three affiliated colleges has a moral responsibility to offer required academic curriculum, teaching - learning practices, training and finally permanent placement for all the needy students to create sound society.
Incidentally, University Grants Commission (UGC) recentlyvide its letter F.No. 12-1/2013 (NSQF), dated: 19th December 2014, made it mandatory for all the Universities to establish a separate Placement Cell for strengthening the industry academia linkage and the counselling to the student community using the services of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The UGC strongly believes that this process of counseling and skill development would guide the students regarding pathways available for progression and facilitate their placements. Therefore, the UGC had constituted a steering committee on skill development under the chairmanship of Humble HRM on 17th September, 2014 and resolved that all the Universities should start a separate placement cell for fulfilling its objectives stated above.

Eligibility and Selection criteria

Students from Life Science Graduates / Post Graduates (Final year) or those Graduates / Post Graduates completed their degrees.  First level of interview will be Aptitude Test at Madurai Kamaraj University, Palkalainagar Campus.

 Evaluated and shortlisted candidates have to attend one to one interview.

 Selected candidates will be given offer letters immediately and placement would be made in one of the three places stated above based on mutual convenience and interest.  

The list of the not selected candidates would be maintained in the data bank of i Source company and would be used when more manpower is required by the company.
