Training and Placement

The NIT Puducherry has established a full-fledged Training and Placement cell, which monitors employment opportunities and arranges campus interviews for the pre-final year and final year students. Placement cell edifies all the managerial traits, which are required for the students and prepares the students according to the requirement of the industry.

The cell is headed by Faculty in charge of Training and Placement. Every year, student coordinators are elected from all departments of UG and PG of the final year. The committee works in close coordination with the companies/R&D for the smooth conduct of selection process.

RDGAC Placement Cell:

The mission is to achieve 100% placement for students through dedication, attitude and complete involvement. The TNTEU Chennai placement cell assists with campus placement so that students get various job opportunities. Students receive extensive training to improve their abilities and develop into competent individuals capable of working in the business sector. Recruiters at the placement division of TNTEU Chennai invite the students to a pre-placement discussion on a set date to inform them of the basic policies and work environment, give them an insight into the company, and answer their questions. Following the pre-placement lecture, resumes of registered candidates are shortlisted, and exams such as aptitude tests, technical tests, and others are administered to assess the student's knowledge and IQ under the TNTEU Chennai placement process

Finally, recruiters assign a topic to the selected students in a group for the group discussion after the written round to judge their communication and speaking skills and their performance and presentation of ideas in a group for the TNTEU Chennai placements. Individuals are finally selected after passing the personal interview, and the recruiting firm offers jobs only to the selected candidates by the university.

The College has a Training and Placement Cell with a full-time Placement Officer who is supported by a coordinator from each department.

The placement cell has signed Mous with Infosys, TCS and Barclays bank for various student and faculty development training programs. Every semester, the placement cell of the college deputes staff members for a 15-day residential training program at Infosys, Mysore campus. The trained staff members handle placement training classes for all UG and PG students, two hours per week, They pay special attention to Global Business Foundation Skills which includes Global mobility, Aptitude, communicative English, interview and presentation skills.

Infosys deputes experts to train a mixed batch of students from all departments every year at the SNMV Campus. The 21-day training helps the students turn themselves into hirable and industry ready candidates. In addition to this, placement training helps the students to perform in competitive exams to get different types of job opportunities.

Barclays bank deputes experts to provide virtual training to all final year students from all departments for 9 days on interview skills and aptitude. The best performers during the training shall get direct interview opportunities with Barclays bank.

The Placement Cell is a year round activity to facilitate contacts between organizations and students. Our College has a full-fledged training and placement cell and it is an integral part of the Institution. The cell is committed to provide all possible assistance to its graduates and post graduates in their efforts to find employment.
