Placement Process
The Placement Team sends invitation to the Recruiters with relevant details regarding the Final Placements.
Data is collected from students directly or through the Class Tutors. These data are kept confidentially and passed to prospective recruiters only after prior permission from the designated Authority.
Recruiters convey their intention to participate by submitting a Job Notification Form for each profile they wish to hire for.
The companies inform Source Hub Coordinator about the recruitment process followed by them including the types and number of rounds for selection.
The Placement Team communicates the suitable dates for campus visit for each recruiter.
Companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of recruitment process. This gives students a chance to know more about the company, work culture, growth opportunities and learning and advancement opportunity at the organization.
HR can conduct different rounds of selection process and inform the names of selected students to the Placement Department, which in turn shall inform the concerned students of the same.
Final Job Offers would be provided by the companies, which shall be accepted and acknowledged by the students. All the job offers will be channeled through Source Hub. A Job Offer is considered to be valid only if the Placement Committee is in receipt of the written communication of the same. Any form of verbal or telephonic communication will not be considered as job offers.
The offers letters for the selected candidate should either be mailed or sent to the Placement Cell within 15 days of the final selection.

   Shortlisting of Candidates: Candidates interested in the job role are required to share their CV with the company and apply for the job. Further rounds are conducted with the selected candidates, who are shortlisted based on their CV.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT

The MGR College Placement Cell aims at making available quality placement opportunities for the students by maintaining linkages with Human Resource Departments in Industry and Research Institutions. The alumni of the institute also play a dynamic role in this venture. The placement cell is headed by two Training and Placement Officers (TPOs) and has a faculty representative from each department under the MGR College umbrella. These representatives are the conveners of student and faculty level training.

The placement cell is responsible for maintaining contact with industries specific to their specialization and for arranging placement visits to the campus. Apart from faculty representation the students from each class represent as placement coordinators. Regular meetings of TPOs with student coordinators are held at every fortnight for dissemination of information regarding placement.

Numerous training programmes were conducted for a period of 6 months by 50+ trainers with an objective of exposing the students to know the importance of career counseling and placement. The prime focus of the training was to update the students with the skills that are required to cater the needs in career development. In the training programme special emphasis was given in the areas related to aptitude, soft skills, stress management, group discussion and over all personality development. Activity based training and mock interviews were also conducted to help the students to fetch knowledge with respect to the demands and expectation of the industries related to placement.

Training and Placement Cell

Every year our Sengunthar Arts and Science College, Training and Placement Cell provide enormous opportunities for our students. The Training and Placement Cell motivates and train the students for their upliftment in career. As a part of the institute the Training and Placement Cell have placed 357 students from various departments in 17 companies during the academic year.

In addition, the placement cell had a tie-up with Redington Elite Smart Learning Centre to train the students as CSR Activity. The Center is giving training to all final year UG and PG students to meet the demand by the corporate.

The Smart Learning Centre was inaugurated by Mrs.Indira Kannan with 180 students as participants. On successful completion of final year, the Redington is kind enough to provide training for second year students also. They provide digital classroom and language lab to our students. Totally 210 students participated and benefited by the program. The classes are conducted through online from New Delhi.

In addition to the training, the centre arranged five days YOGA program; combine with “ART OF LIVING”. In the valedictory session the RTO of Tiruchengode, Mr.Ramalingam presented the certificates to the participants.

About T & P
The training and placement division plays a vital role for Graduates passing out of the college in locating job opportunities. The process supports the students in catering to the need of the students in building their career through placements, counselling and guidance for higher education, incubate entrepreneurial ideas and competitive exams. Our division works closely with corporate to identify their needs and train the students accordingly. T & P operates round the year to support and facilitate students by inviting experts and professionals to the campus and interaction with them.
