PLACEMENT TRAINING

The placement cell organizes on-campus and off-campus recruitments and pre placement training programs in aptitude test, group discussions, interviews and presentation. The pre-placement training is embedded in the curriculum from the academic year 2016-17 as follows

• Communication Skill - I and II semester

• Soft Skills - III and IV Semester

• Aptitude - V and VI Semester

Professional trainers are hired to handle the above courses.

Earlier the Pre-Placement training was conducted for a duration of 3 to 6 days during the semester/vacation from the III semester onwards. By introducing pre-placement training as a course in the curriculum, the delivery of the course is steady, the learning is effective and the performance is measurable.

Mock interviews and GDs are conducted from the IV semester to VI semester in the pre-placement training course to face the challenges of recruitment scenario. Enhancement of technical skills such as Programming, Networking, Computer aided design and development etc are made through workshops. The cell motivates the students to get exposed to best industry practices through Industrial training and Internship during their vacations.

Technical and domain related sessions are conducted as Value Added Programs in related domain areas of Engineering to empower the student with the essential skill needed in industry.

From academic year 2017-18 Industry Internship Training program is made mandatory for UG students.

The College has an Information and Placement Bureau (IPB), functioning since 2001. The IPB caters to the needs of students in respect of their placement by inviting companies, MNCs/ Corporate and arranging on-campus recruitments for them; and also acquainting them about the emerging job trends globally. The bureau provides all technical facilities for presentations, written test, online test, group discussion and interviews to the recruiters.The bureau also invites, from time to time, professionals to the institute to deliberate as to how to prepare for the various competitive examinations like MBA, GATE, RAS, IAS etc. and helps students in selecting a good institute for further studies for a good career.

SIWS College Placements

The placement cell is a strong committee of skilled professionals, other faculties, students, and alumni members who are working in the industry. They help in conducting regular sessions on developing Communication, soft skills, group discussions, and mock interviews in order to groom our students and improve their chances of getting selected across the companies overboard.

The placement package ranges from INR 3Lakhs to 7 Lakhs. About 30 companies participate in the placement drive every year. Some of the top recruiters are L&T, TCS, media.net, Oracle, Capgemini, etc.

Our College is happy that it has full-fledged Placement Cell from February 2017 onwards. The Placement Cell plays a key role in locating job opportunities for both UG and PG students. On an average 30% students are placed even before they complete their graduation programme.

Placement: Entering into the last semester the students become eligible for the campus placements. Every year college Will assign more companies for the campus placements. corporates will hire the students for jobs with the suitable skills of the students. I went to more than 10 companies interviews. The companies offered 300000 to 40000 as per the companies' profile. The students must clear all the semesters without any due arrears with 50% of marks placed in the interview. some companies offer jobs if students have arrears.

The top roles offered are Dietician, nutrition, chemistries, interior, fashion etc. Software engineer-related and testing courses were available in this college. Placements were good in this college. Almost 70% of students got placed in top companies.

PLACEMENT PROCESS
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY
A student who applies and gets shortlisted is bound to go through the entire selection process unless rejected midway by the company. Any student who withdraws deliberately in the middle of a selection process will be disallowed from placement for the rest of the academic year.

LATE COMERS FOR APTITUDE TEST / GD / INTERVIEW may not be allowed to appear for the selection process.
DISCIPLINE: Students should maintain discipline and show ethical behavior in every action they take during the placement process. Any student found violating the discipline rules set by the company or defaming the university name will be disallowed from the placements for the rest of the academic year.
Students found cheating or misbehaving in the selection process (PPT / Test / GD / Interview) will be disallowed from the placements for the rest of the academic year.

JOB OFFERS
The Offer Letter issued by the Company. The copy of the offer letter is required to submit in the placement Cell.
If a student is offered a second job, he/she must give a letter of regret to the company, which offered the first job and a letter of acceptance to the second.
After accepting a job offer, if any student decides to withdraw his/her acceptance any time during the year, he/she must inform the company concerned through the PC immediately.
Post Placement: If any reasons the Company will stop joining of candidates so College is not responsible for that. The company shall be intimated of the offer acceptance within three days of the release of the offer.

Placement

With a view to ease the transition from education to employment, the Training and Placement cell apart from conducting the annual placement hosts skill development programmes and encourages the students to intern with various organizations. In the year 2018, the annual placement named “Legal Career Path’18” was successfully conducted with the presence of over 18 recruiters and 59 students were placed. Beginning of the academic year 2018-2019 witnessed various pre placement talks like Legal Conclave’18, which hosted 15 legal professionals, majority of whom were alumni of our college.

Legal professionals from Aditya Birla Finance Group, Fox Mandal, Tatva Legal, ACA Juris and various other organizations gave the students a glimpse of what awaits them in the profession and the corporate sector. Another Pre-placement discussion was held with official representative and territory head Mr. Patil from Manupatra. A session on Career Opportunities in Law firms and Corporate was held by a former law associate, Clutch Group. Training Sessions were conducted by IDP Ltd. for law students on ILETS for placements abroad was organized. Further, a training –cum-workshop on ‘Law Degree & Beyond was organized in association with Legall India. A Campus to Corporate’ a training program was held by a team from Infinique. Various HR groups visited the campus inorder to provide soft skill training sessions to the students.

The cell also focuses on encouraging the students for winter and summer break internships, Over 580 students have interned from reputed law firms, Law associates/chambers, Judicial academy, Law ministry, CBI, Bio-Diversity Board, Patent and trade mark offices, NGOs, Corporate offices, Compliance depts., Revenue, police departments and research units. The training and placement cell hopes to provide the best platform for the existing potential at SDM Law with its consistent efforts.

IIIT Trichy has a training and placement cell that organizes placement drives at the campus. The cell additionally conducts mock interviews and presents education earlier than the position force. Many reputed groups are touring the campus each yr to recruit college students. In the placement force of 2021, a complete 65% of college students were given placed in reputed organizations. Training & Placement Cell was formed with a Coordinator and Members from various Departments for effective functioning of the  Cell. Each Department has one Staff representative to guide the students and prepare the student’s data.
