Human Resource Development is the framework for helping students to develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities so as to enhance their personality as well as help them get placed in an organization which has global presence. AIT is one of the very few colleges where the concept of HRD has been implemented and proved successful. The HR Department is sincerely working to empower students with various qualities and skills to achieve professional and personal excellence. The HRD is playing a major role in transforming the students to the expectations of the industry. All the students are informed about the necessity of maintaining good academic scores and are motivated regularly to achieve the same. Training programs and industry related seminars are routine and the students are exposed to these kinds of programs from the very first day they step into the college. These programs along with mock tests, both offline and online, have been made mandatory and evaluation procedures are followed which are in line with those required by the corporate world. They are being prepared to be individuals with logical and analytical skills and with excellent practical knowledge.

The HRD Department at AIT is headed by Dr. Ananda Raju, recognizes the need for imparting proper, streamlined and industry oriented training and as such actively organizes need-based short and long term programs on a regular basis. Assesments
Personality Development/Assessment: Overall grooming and personality development are essential aspects of training that the P&T Department focuses on. In order to truly empower students, P&T works on grooming them completely so that the challenges can be dealt with effectively.

The department helps the students recognize their skills and shortcomings through a series of tests and workshops. Soft-skills training programs are conducted which help the students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Weak student training programs are held regularly to instill confidence among the students.

AIT has tie-ups with TCS for the campus connect program by which the students improve their interpersonal and technical skill sets and prepares them to emerge as leaders.

Overall personality development helps build confidence in students. It reinforces traditional values which are unalterable in any evolving or changing situation. Most importantly, it presents to them a larger picture of responsibilities that must be dealt with especially towards their family and society at large.

PLACEMENT CELL

The Career Guidance Cell at The New College functions under the direct control and directions of the Principal of the College. A team of Professors nominated by they Principal, work together to guide the students on Career opportunities.

The objective of the cell is to identify the talents available among the students of this College and nurture and harness them further and offer guidance to choose a bright and right career.

The activities of the cell include collecting the database of the students and compiling them for use when needed. The cell facilitates the students to improve their skills to face various competitive exams such as civil service exams conducted by UPSC and TNPSC. The Career Guidance Cell organizes seminars and meetings to encourage the students to plan their future. Above all, the main function of the cell is to invite reputed companies to the campus to conduct campus interviews and find suitable jobs for the skills available among the students.

The cell also facilitates the economically weaker sections of the students of first and second year undergraduate courses to find suitable part time jobs to supplement the family income without affecting the academic pursuit.

Placement & Training

A separate Training and Placement cell exists to arrange training programmes and placement drive for students. Students are given special training on personal development and soft skills right from the first semester which helps them to face life with confidence and also to perform well during placement tests and interviews conducted by various companies. Every academic year around 90% of students are placed and the rest pursue their higher studies. Placement interviews are arranged within the campus by inviting reputed firms and also in other institutions. The following companies visit our campus for placement. Training & Placement


Training & Placement department helps preparing graduates and passed out students in finding suitable jobs in reputed organizations. This cell works out placement strategies based on current as well as further job markets and takes into account the emerging job profile so that these may provide upward mobility in the career-graphs of our students. Invitations are sent to the prospective companies / organizations along with all relevant information to participate in the campus recruitment.

Regular correspondence is maintained with various industries. Personal visits by the Training and Placement Officer, to many companies also serves to build and maintain relations with the companies. The cell maintains a branch -wise list of industries and encourages students to approach the companies independently in case that particular company does not have a policy of Campus Recruitment.

The cell maintains a branch-wise record of all current appearing students in the Final Year through the collection of their resumes. Based on the requirements prescribed by the company, the eligible candidates are invited for appearing for the test / interviews that are conducted by the visiting companies. The T & P also maintains a list of past students and passes this list to companies who specifically come for pass-out students.

The T & P cell looks after all arrangements to be made for the purpose of conducting campus interviews including everything from, the Pre-Placement Talk, to the written tests, to the final interviews The Training and Placement Cell firmly believes in taking feedback from the companies that have visited since the feedback from the company serves as a yardstick regarding the performance of the students.

This helps the Training and Placement Cell in concentrating on various areas for improvement in the students. We believe that our students are like 'uncut diamonds' that need to be guided in the right direction to acquire their lustre.


Campus Recruitment Process

Requirements of a company are received by Training & Placement Cell (T & PC) for campus recruitment. The circular is sent to department heads and students about the recruitment. The department shortlists the candidates and send the same to the T & PC. The list of students will be forwarded to the recruiting company.


Off Campus Recruitment

The T & PC will shortlist the students from the database matching the company requirements and sends the list to recruiting company or institution for further action.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-2013

The placement cell of the Navarasam Arts and Science College was started with the clear stated vision and mission on 08.06.05 under the direct supervision of the placement officer Dr.V.Sugumar, Head, Department of management with five active members. The Placement Cell was inaugurated by Mr.I.Selvam, Vice Principal, Navarasam Arts and Science College for Women. The Coaching and Training Classes are conducted every Saturday in the college Auditorium Or Conference Hall. Two Training Program, one Awareness Program, One IAS Coaching and One TNPSC Coaching Classes were conducted for the upliftment of the students with respective efficient Resource Persons.

In the academic year 2012 – 2013 various companies were invited To participate in the campus interview to be conducted to hire efficient working people to add laurels for their company. 35 students were placed through on-campus mode in various companies viz, Infosys, Bangalore, Enrich Academy, Coimbatore, Hicitizen Life Skills, Perundurai and RFF Infra Project, Erode. 7 students were paced through off-campus mode. A sum of 42 students was placed in this academic year.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-2014

The placement cell of the Navarasam Arts and Science College is under the direct supervision of the placement officer Dr.V.Sugumar,Head, Department of management with five active members. The placement cell was inaugurated by Mr. Yuvaraj, Junior Assistant, Cunoor.

One Training Program and one Awareness Program, six TNPSC classes, one Insurance Awareness Program was conducted for the improvement of the students with respective skilled Resource Persons.

In the academic year 2015 – 2016 various companies were requested to be an active member of the campus interview and employ efficient employee to add laurels for our Institution. 301 students were placed through on-campus mode in Vestige Technology, Career Max, Susi Staffing Services, Samy Educational Services, IDL Academy, MUA Technology Solutions, Z Plus Technology, IDBI, Eureka Forbs, New Jobs Placement Services. 23 students were paced through off-campus mode. ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018

The placement cell was still under the direct supervision and effective functioning of Dr.V.Sugumar with five dynamic members.The Coaching and Training Classes are conducted every Saturday in the college Auditorium Or Conference Hall. Totally 43 placement programs were conducted in this year. 81 students got selection in the on-campus interview. 50 students got placed through off-campus interview.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-2019

The placement cell of the Navarasam Arts and Science College was inaugurated by the Principal Dr.P.Sharmila and Placement officer Dr.V.Sugumar,Head, Department of management. The placement cell was still under the direct supervision and effective functioning of Dr.V.Sugumar with dynamic members.The Coaching and Training Classes are conducted every Saturday in the college Auditorium Or Conference Hall. Totally 20 placement programs were conducted in this year. A total of 155 students got placed. 88 students got selected through on-campus interview.67 students got placed through off-campus interview.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020

The placement cell was still under the direct supervision and effective functioning of Dr.V.Sugumar with dynamic members.The placement cell was divided into two groups for paving way for effective placement. 12 training programs and 17 placement Programs were conducted. Totally 588 studentsgot placed in this year. 491 students placed through online campus interview and 97 students got placed through offline campus interview.

For those enrolled in the BBA+LLB program at Auro Univesity Gujrat, internship possibilities are offered. Successful interns receive a payment from the university, which is decided by the firm. Legal service providers, banks, and business organizations are significant employers on campus. The highest reported pay was up to 18 lacks per year, with the typical salary filling between 4 and 8 lacks. With the aid of the university's robust alumni network, a sizable portion of the class is placed.

Placements in AU, vary from department to department. For the MBA program, placements were generally good but there is still a lot of scope for improvement. DLF, HDFC, ICICI, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance, etc. The industry-specific curriculum did prepare us for corporate jobs, but the number of companies that visited the campus was limited. Placement: Campus placements are pretty ordinary here. Though, the placements also vary from department to department. Some decent companies visit our campus.
