Dr. D.Veerendra Heggade Institute of Management Studies and Research was founded with this thought to bridge the gap between industry & academia. DVHIMSR is part of Janata Shikshan Samiti (JSS) group of institutions, which is one of the most reputed groups of educational institutions in North Karnataka the Samiti has played an active role in empowering people and bettering the lives of communities in North Karnataka. The institute was set up in the year 2008 to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Karnataka India.

MBA Admissions

•Master’s in Business Management (MBA) is an elite qualification for business professionals. It is a course focussing on developing the students in leadership, excellence, and initiative skills which are very much required for the high flying career in the corporate. The value of the MBA, however, is not limited strictly to the business world. An MBA can also be useful for those pursuing a managerial career in the public sector, government, private industry, and other areas.

•The program ranks organizational literacy and pragmatic business skills as top priorities among its objectives. It promotes a necessary awareness of the broad context in which organizations of today work. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade Institute of Management Studies and Research offers a two-year full-time MBA program affiliated with Karnataka University Dharwad (KUD) and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

•The MBA program is designed and structured to enable students to adapt to the changing requirements, challenges, and opportunities of the global business scenario.

Entrance Exams
Post-Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) and Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) are the two ways to get into the MBA course. PGCET is conducted usually during May-June every year. And K-MAT is conducted twice every year. The candidate needs to Pre-Register to appear in the examinations which are conducted throughout the state. The rankings are given based on the performance in the examinations. The candidate is asked to list five management institutes to choose from the available list based on the rank secured. The counseling session will be conducted in the regional centers where the candidate is asked to make a final decision on the choice of the management institute he wants to get into along with the verification of the documents.

Placements

Pre-placement training activities will boost the confidence of our students. These activities are conducted regularly by industry experts and In-house faculty members. Industry experts are invited to interact with the students in various specialisations. Usually, weekends are utilised for these interactions, where students are exposed to the knowledge and wisdom of the experts. Industry experts conduct workshops, interactive seminars, Mock interviews and various training on soft skills required as per the industry standards.

Class Rooms
The (DVHIMSR), Dharwad Classrooms are large air-conditioned rooms, fitted with LCD projectors, white and blackboards, computers, and audio-visual systems where students go beyond the periphery and are expected to have continuous interaction with the faculty, corporate executives, peers, etc. The classrooms are designed in such a way as to facilitate customized attention to each student.

Computer Lab
With continuously upgraded hardware, software, and communication facilities, DVH IMSR is taking the face of management to a new era. With a dedicated FTTH 100 Mbps internet connection available, students have access to information instantly. Students, Faculty, and Administration are networked with internal LAN and complete wi-fi enabled campus.

Library
• (DVHIMSR), Dharwad Library is a well-perceived information resources center with solid foundations and excellent values for teaching, learning, and research. It is a center for the learning process rather than a hub for the study process. Being the heart of the academic center, it is home to all information services. To provide Anytime, Anywhere Access to information and knowledge.

•DVHIMSR has collaborated with reputed B-school libraries in India through institutional membership as an initiative to strengthen access to information resources & services.

Auditorium
The (DVHIMSR), Dharwad houses a fully air-conditioned & well-equipped auditorium with a sitting capacity of more than 1000 persons. The building is used for ceremonies, speeches, and performances.

Seminar hall
The (DVHIMSR), Dharwad provides two spacious seminar halls with 150 – 200 seating capacities. Having a captivating ambiance and all technical facilities, Seminar halls are used for various purposes like the conduct of guest lectures, workshops, student meetings, staff meetings, placement drives, Faculty Development Programs, etc.

Hostel
• Separate hostel for both boys and girls

• The Students Hostel has been built with a wonderful ambiance with spacious rooms. We have a separate hostel for both boys and girls located very close to the institute. Both the hostels have separate playgrounds to keep students fit. Nutritious balanced food is being served to the students.

Cafeteria
The (DVHIMSR), Dharwad has a cafeteria located on the campus providing a wide range of foods including North & South Indian as well as fast food for the benefit of the students and staff.
